Youth Mobilizer

Base: Ain El  Remaneh Area , Mount Lebanon. Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is an apolitical neutral organization whose objective is to provide immediate and long-term support to vulnerable population affected by natural disasters, armed conflicts and other types of crisis. SIF has been present in Lebanon since 2012, implementing projects through National partner aiming at distributing assistance to the Syrian refugee populations affected by the conflict in Lebanon. This program allowed SIF contributing to the improvement of the well-being of the children, youth and their families In response to the current crisis in Syria, and the growing numbers of refugees coming to Lebanon, SIF is expending its humanitarian response and will scale-up its emergency support to Syrian refugees and affected population. In view of SIF operation scale up SIF is currently recruiting Youth Mobilizer to begin immediately. The Youth Mobilizer will be based in Baabda Area, but will support SIF’s main office in Beirut. Furthermore, the Youth Mobilizer will be in contact with other SIF members to harmonize and share tools as well as lessons learnt. The Youth Mobilizer is part of the Protection Program team of SIF-Lebanon and will be under the line management of theProtection ProgramManager. MISSION CONTEXT The SIF project aims at strengthening the identification of vulnerabilities, their assessment and adequate referrals to existing services.. The Youth Mobilizer works in the youth friendly space (Ain el Roumanne) for recreational activities, sport activities and awareness sessions with youth. Strong coordination with other actors in the area of intervention is the pillar of this program and the referral mechanism will guarantee the provision of adequate services from others partners. The action aims at strengthening the presence in the area, enhancing the relationship between the youth and SIF, involving them in the protection committee, through the decision making for the activities, the vocational training and awareness sessions, increasing their access to the services available. Furthermore, as part of a longer term strategy aiming at supporting and reinforcing resilience of local stakeholders, the action includes a strong capacity building & strengthening component targeting the committee, SDC and local stakeholders on protection, child protection, referral pathway and mechanism, conflict resolution etc. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  Plan, organize and run sports, arts, drama and other activitieswith youth in the center;  Mobilize and facilitate active participation of youth, participate in planning, monitoring and implementation of youth Initiatives; Prepare all the necessary for the various activities well in advance, paying attention to details; Assist in planning and organizing of awareness sessions in the youth friendly space with youth and adults; Carry out community-based mobilization and other related activities, adhering to project, workplan and ensuring consistent implementation across the project area; Provide mentoring and coaching as required to youth within Youth Friendly Center and other activities such as livelihoods activities; Establish a calendar for each activity and the Youth concerned; Contribute to create a positive atmosphere interacting constructively with colleagues and ; Communicating efficiently with superiors, conveying to them ideas and new proposals according to daily observation in dealing with youth; Report any observed problem of a child / youth for the Psycho-social Worker for further assistance; Facilitate, collects and reports information regarding the overall situation of youth, families and their communities; Identify areas where communities need support, facilitate access to resources;  Establish connection with the community in the implementation’s area; Facilitate community meetings to encourage discussion; Contribute to spread the messages to the community and beneficiaries and involving; community members and groups in organizing and participating in the awareness activities and the initiatives; Attend weekly meetings with SW, PSW and PM in the field; Ensure that the minimum child protection standards are implemented and respected in all youth activities; Identify, train and manage the community volunteers / Focal Point,  Refugees Outreach Volunteers in their daily activities; Assist with data collection; Perform other duties are required.  REPORTING Reports directly to SIF’s Beirut Office, the Project Manager/line manager. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of each week: Ensure a daily proper recording of data (# of youth, adults participating, activities delivered, etc); Centralize all information gathered in the field and consolidate a daily report (into the proper reporting format) to be delivered to the Project Manager; The Narrative Report which includes: the number of beneficiaries, actions taken, number activities conducted, awareness raising activities, number of people attending the session with breakdown per age group and gender; Weekly update – numbers of beneficiaries segregated by age, gender,  needs and vulnerability (i.e. living in very poor conditions and other); Provide regular reporting on your activities to the PM and Programme Coordinator upon his/her solicitation. ETHIC AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE Respect to child Protection Openness to working with refugees (Syrian, Palestinian, etc.) and deprived children Always respect of beneficiaries’ confidentiality Respect and promote SIF’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of SIF’s policies amongst the teams or partners. Address needs and requests in a professional way. Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others. Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers Always respect a refusal of treatment.
