Wash Officer

Main Role The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Officer will work to facilitate the effective and successful planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the „soft“ WASH components (including hygiene promotion, PHAST, and water sampling and testing) for the current response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis and Lebanese Host Communities. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Operational Roles and Responsibilities: Project Implementation and Development Plan the implementation of the field work and set timetable with the DMU branch WASH teams on the field. Follow up day to day activity implementation of all branches and according to previously set plan. Facilitate carrying out community mobilisation, hygiene promotion and PHAST sessions among refugees. Provide technical support to Hygiene Promoters to execute their activities effectively. Plan, monitor and evaluate all activities related to water sampling and testing. Provide technical support to DMU branch volunteers to conduct water sampling and testing. Analyse water testing results and advise with the appropriate solutions. Prepare and update all documents related to WASH project. Ensure management of WASH training project and implementation versus a set timetable and budget. Prepare all curriculum manuals related to my part of the job. Do searches to ensure that all data mentioned is already validated. Prepare training methodology and pedagogical guidelines. Ensure training implementation to all WASH active branches. Ensure conducting quality trainings that will have a positive change to the WASH program progress. Ensure good implementation of the project (quality, reliability and consistency) on the ground. Collect daily data from the branches, ensure their accuracy and provide the teams with a feedback with WASH manager approval. Ensure the follow-up of the quantitative and the qualitative indicators, respecting the logical framework and the project cycle. Suggest adaptations of activities in order to provide an accurate response to the needs. Ensure a sustainable use of the materials used by the operational teams. Ensure weekly basis coordination with WASH manager. Ensure good coordination with other projects Inform WASH manager of any relevant information which could impact positively or negatively the project implementation. Develop an effective implementation plan and alternative project delivery methods to meet very tight schedules. Facilitates arrangement and coordination for special activities as required by the National Headquarters through the DMU. Facilitates planning meetings and workshops when required. Monitors and evaluates the implementation of the activity to determine more areas for improvement and best practices; Facilitates requirements and make recommendation for planned activities; Ensure thematic issues are mainstreamed in WASH work; Provides direction and monitor field staff in their implementation of the work plan and quality of technical activities. . Cross-cutting Ensure that gender, protection, the environment, and other important cross- cutting concerns are taken into account in programme design, implementation, and reporting; ensure that activities reflect the needs of specific groups and individuals e.g. elderly people, children, and people with disabilities.   Monitoring and Reporting Ensure that all data related to the project are collected and compiled in the project database. Enter data collected from monitoring activities accurately and according to progress. Keep detailed up to date records for the project activities. Provide the team with statistical data and analysis on the activities that are under my responsibility in a matter to facilitate all reports to be done. Report weekly (every Monday) to the PM what was implemented during the past week. Report and prepare the monthly situation report of the project and report it to PMER Report all implemented activities to Activity info. Report after every branch visit to PM what was noticed during the visit. Prepare WASH quarterly and annual reports to relevant authorities.     Representation and Coordination Ensure that the DMU branch WASH teams are sensitized about beneficiary protection. Support and advise the teams on the field during activity implementation. Ensure feedback towards teams with issues they raise. Ensure good communication with the team members and perform meetings from time to time with them if needed. Develops and maintains effective coordination and long-term relationships with external stakeholders, representing LRC positions. Participate in the technical and sectoral meetings and working groups involving NGOs and UN Agencies and all other inter-governmental institutions.
