JOB PROFILE
JOB TITLE: 11 Psychotherapist[MA1]
DURATION: 6 months (renewable)
LOCATION: Beirut, Mount Lebanon, North, South, Bekaa (North, West and Central).
ABAAD PURPOSE:
ABAAD is a non-profit, non-politically affiliated, non-religious civil association that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD seeks to promote women's equality and participation through policy development, legal reform, and gender mainstreaming, engaging men, eliminating discrimination, and advancing and empowering women to participate effectively and fully in their communities. ABAAD also seeks to support and collaborate with civil society organizations that are involved in gender equality programs and advocacy campaigns.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Psychotherapist will provide specialized mental health services and psychosocial support to beneficiaries in individual and group settings, technical support to project’s teams, and take part in managerial and organizational monthly meetings.
REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to Project Managers and ABAAD’s MHPSS technical advisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Within the holistic care approach provided to beneficiaries (women, men and youth) in the different projects, the psychotherapist is in charge of:
Providing Psychotherapy services to beneficiaries including:
- Moderate group therapy for beneficiaries
- Providing individual/couple/family psychotherapy services
2- Providing Technical Support to the team through:
- Providing Technical Support to Case Workers/Social Workers/PSS workers through Weekly Case Study meetings where the psychotherapist supports in the development and implementation of MHPSS action plans tailored to each beneficiary when needed and where training needs of Case Workers/Social Workers/PSS workers are identified.
3- Taking part in Organizational Monthly Meetings/Specialized MHPSS Meetings at ABAAD with MHPSS advisor and Program Managers
4- Deliverables:
To submit on a monthly basis the monthly report at end of each month (in English), including:
- Record of psychotherapy sessions with beneficiaries
- Summary of Weekly Case Study and action planning meetings
- Recommendations for capacity development process of staff
5- Other:
- Take part regularly in working sessions and trainings organized by ABAAD or by other partners on the National and International levels based on mutual consensus with ABAAD management team
- Take part in research activities or assessments based on mutual consensus with ABAAD management team.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Master Degree in Psychology
- Minimum 5 years of experience as psychotherapist in NGO
- Proof of personal development process through Personal Therapy or Supervision
- Experience in field of working with women and children victims of GBV
- Understanding relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; leadership skills; analytical thinking, detail-oriented skills, listening skills, negotiation skills, performance management skills, problem solving skills, stress management skills, teamwork, and values diversity.
- Commitment to human rights, gender equality, non-discrimination and child protection principles
- Ability to work under pressure and in crisis situation, as individual and in a team
- Ability to work across socio-cultural and religious contexts
- Belief in ABAAD’s mission and vision
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written Arabic, English and French are a plus
- Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
