Please visit our website www.worldlearning.org Background:  QITABI is a four year, $41.2 million project that will improve both access to education and learning outcomes in primary schools, in addition to supporting institutional effectiveness across MEHE (Ministry of Education and Higher Education) in Lebanon. QITABI aims to improve outcomes in reading at the primary level, under the assumption that increased literacy directly correlates to increased academic and professional achievement. Improved facilities, services, and teaching – along with more effectively engaged communities and school councils – will not only improve learning outcomes, but also increase the chances of youth remaining in the formal education system. The project has three components: Component 1: Improving reading outcomes for primary level public school students Component 2: Expanding access to safe and relevant education for vulnerable public school students Component 3: Strengthening management (resilience) in the education system to better direct and monitor education Internship Summary The main purpose of the position is to assist in the implementation of Component 1 and 2 activities at the level of the primary public schools all over Lebanon.  S/He will be working closely with the IT officer and the Procurement Team. As such, this role includes field assistance and support, procurement and logistics coordination, information and data gathering. There will be a number of Field Support Interns/ Volunteers in the project and they will operate at the site level. It is not anticipated that all Field Support Interns/Volunteers will have the needed skills, the project will build their capacity to help equip them to undertake their role with confidence.   Primary Responsibilities: Provide daily administrative support to the Operations Team in Beirut office and during field visits to the primary public schools where activities are taking place Report on a daily basis the data collected through the agreed-upon reporting methods to the relevant QITABI focal point. Respond to any arising issues/troubleshoot as briefed and trained in advance by QITABI Support the IT Team in assessing the ICT equipment installation; this will include but not limited to ensuring goods are well received, installed and tested as well as ensuring safety of installed electrical equipment Support the Procurement and Logistics team in collecting invoices, supplies and materials when needed Follow up and maintain the documentation related to procurement (invoices, receipts, delivery forms, M&E forms…) Be responsible for filling the needed delivery-logistics forms, M&E forms, and other forms as required Coordinate with the procurement and logistics officer the delivery/distribution schedule when required Handle all log books relating to inventory, supplies, and equipment as required Assist in the development of any program-related surveys and other appropriate field-based studies; collect and gather information which will ensure ongoing exchange of information among all partners and program senior staff Represent the organization in a professional and respectful manner in the working area Perform any other duties as assigned by the management.     Experience Required University Student preferred in the 2nd year with a strong ICT skill Has worked in emergency response with marginalized communities or with any volunteering experience Very good coordination skills with the ability to follow up on various tasks in parallel Team player and adaptable with readiness to learn and adapt to new techniques and approaches Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently and within a team Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Fluency in English and Arabic, both spoken and written, is required.
