Social Worker; Vacancy No': Sw/ml/unicef/2016

INTRO Terre des Hommes Italy, non-governmental international organization, is recruiting a social worker to be involved in the implementation of the project “Strengthening Protection for Syrian refugees and Lebanese vulnerable girls and boys and their caregivers through community based and Psycho-Social Support activities building up their resilience, and provision of Case Management services”.   JOB PURPOSE The social worker will monitor and identify protection cases. She/he will support the TL. The SW will also facilitate the awareness and information activities in the area.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  * Monitor protection risks and needs and identifying protection cases; * To support the TL in coordinating outreach activities in each of the areas covered by the project; * To plan and organize assessment of needs and outreach activities under the supervision of the Team leader and PSS Coordinator; * To organize regular awareness and information activities in collaboration with specialized NGOs in collaboration with the TL; * To identify beneficiaries with special needs; * To refer beneficiaries with special needs to specialized NGOs according to predefined referral pathways after the approval of the Team Leader; * To participate to the weekly meetings with TDH IT Staff, to share lessons learned and exchange experiences; * To ensure proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies); * To write weekly reports in collaboration with the Team Leader; * To share information on field-level successes and challenges with the project team * To comply with the TDH IT Code of Conduct * Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the PM and PSS coordinator.    Experience and requirements  * Degree in social and behavioral science, preferable social work or any other related field * 1 year work experience in child protection programs in development or emergency, preferable social work or case management * Experience in working in a cross cultural environment preferable * Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: * Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoy field work * Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children * Good communication skills * Time management and organizational skills * Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus * Microsoft Office: Word and Excel is a must
