IT Assistant Employer: International Catholic Migration Commission Deadline for applications: Friday, AUG 05, 2016 Location: Beirut Working area: Refugees Field Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION Resettlement Support Center Turkey & Middle East an international non-governmental organization which serves as a regional office for the US Refugee Resettlement and Cultural Orientation Program in the Middle East region. RSC ICMC Beirut conducts US Resettlement Operations in Lebanon. RSC Turkey & Middle East (RSC TUME) operates in a dynamic work environment and job descriptions/duties may change as operational needs decrease or increase RSC/ICMC Beirut is recruiting an IT Assistant to be employed on a full time basis. IT Assistant is expected to work 40 hours per week. SUMMARY IT Assistant will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to our computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solutions with guidance from HQ IT department. Applicants should know intermediate O/S installation and hardware knowledge. DUTIES and RESPONSOBILITIES: Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. Respond to queries either in person or over the phone to local team. Train computer users on security awareness and basic usage. Maintain daily performance of computer systems. Respond to email messages for local team seeking help as well as being hands and eyes for HQ IT team. Ask questions to determine nature of problem. Walk local team through problem-solving process. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software on client base. Clean up computers. Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems. Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS). Install basic computer peripherals for users. Follow up with local team to ensure issue has been resolved. Gain feedback from local team about computer usage. Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur. Report to HQ IT team weekly. Basic Knowledge with Cisco IP Telephones Take action on inventory lists.   EDUCATION Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent experience QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES Good command of  English and Arabic, both written and verbal Knowledge of additional languages is an asset Excellent writing, communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Respect for diversity Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively under stress within a multicultural team environment TO APPLY Interested candidates are requested to submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae and cover letter detailing relevant experience to, sari@icmc.net
