Hygiene Promotion Intern

Background ACTED is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in France with global operations in Central and South Asia, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. ACTED has been active in Lebanon since 2006 operating mainly in the North and Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates of Lebanon. ACTED has been implementing WASH and Shelter interventions in various areas of the country. *The internship is for ten days per month for a period of 3 months* Assignment Under the supervision of the Hygiene Promotion Officer, the Hygiene Promotion Intern is responsible for providing field support to the Hygiene Promotion team. Specifically the Hygiene Promotion Intern will assist in community based HP events, forums, campaigns and training sessions in schools. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthoustic University student or fresh graduate to be part of an International Organization working towards development and humanitarian assistance in Lebanon. Functions  The Hygiene Promotion Intern shall be responsible for: -Assist in field HP activities, such as trainings at schools, communities and Public Health Centers (PHC);  -Assist at the identification of the most appropriate HP messages regarding the target population; -Close monitoring of the impact of the field activities; -Contribution at the HP Country strategy; -Direct contact with beneficiaries through phone communication or household visits; -Notify Project Coordinator in case of any problem or obstacle in the field; -Inform relevant ACTED focal points of any security threats or incidents in the field; -Ensure correct and efficient use of resources o Coordination -Coordinate with the established committees, selected volunteers and relevant stakeholders to ensure an effective implementation of the tasks assigned; o Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries The Hygiene Promotion Intern is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner. Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED program objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS -University Student or fresh graduate of Public Health, social sciences or any other related major; -Fluent in Arabic, with good written and verbal English skills and the ability to work in an international context; -Strong communication skills;  -Excellent interpersonal skills and external relations; -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;  -Flexible and hardworking;  -Understanding of international assistance. -Prior relevant field experience would be an advantage.
