Only applications received through this link are considered PURPOSE OF POSITION: The principal purpose of this role is to ensure cash, commodity and food program compliance with WV global standards, best practices and audit regulations. The job holder will be responsible for establishing control mechanisms within the cash portfolio to ensure strict adherence to regulations. In addition to this, the job holder will need to work closely with all project leads to build their capacity in meeting key global standards and audit regulations across their projects. Finally, the job holder will apply key accounting principles and financial control mechanisms to analyze cash, commodity and food assistance information, lead reconciliation processes on a monthly basis across all grants, and compile all necessary internal and external reports. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Review and determine the financial and programmatic risk levels across all cash, commodities and food projects under the portfolio; Develop a clear long term sustainable strategy for managing the identifies risks, in clear compliance with WV global standards; Implement the devised strategy across the cash portfolio in a systematic manner, in close coordination with the cash portfolio manager, the project leads and WV finance department; Liaise with WV regional audit team and the WV Food Programming Community of Practice to ensure that the strategy being implemented aligns with audit regulations and WV global programmatic best practices; Assess the risk level of all upcoming projects that will form part of the portfolio at the project design stage. Participate in the design process identifying and suggesting mechanism of minimizing risk. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A minimum of a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance Management, Economics or similar Chartered accountant status Work experience in multi-functional teams of different cultural backgrounds Ability to work extra hours whenever required in emergency situations and as situation demands. Minimum of two years of similar work experience in project/programme financial and compliance control, preferably in cash, commodities and food sectors The position is 95% office based and 5% field based. The position holder will be expected to be available on last minute calls, flexible in working hours and willing to work weekends and holidays as the need arises.
