-KAFA is a feminist Lebanese non-profit civil society organization working towards eradicating all forms of gender-based violence and exploitation of women through advocating for legal reform and change of policies and practices, influencing public opinion, and empowering victims.Since 2010, KAFA has been advocating for a better social and legal protection for victims of trafficking, and recently has started running a shelter with the primary aim of providing safe accommodation to women and girls victims of trafficking and offering them assistance, support, and capacity building. In the framework of the daily operations of the shelter, KAFA is seeking a female social worker to handle the follow-up of the residents.
Duties: The following duties are requested from the position holder:
- Ensure the daily case management of the residents: crisis intervention, safety planning, supportive counseling, and referrals and follow-up with resource persons such as psychotherapists, lawyers, official authorities, medical doctors, etc.; - Undertake the necessary actions and trips outside the shelter such as accompanying residents to the embassy/consulate/authorities, attending a police or judicial investigation, receiving new residents with the possibility of meeting them after working hours and on weekends, etc.; - Network with the relevant stakeholders for the follow-up of the cases;- Propose ideas for group activities and capacity building according to the needs identified during case management, and conduct awareness raising activities to the group when needed. - Be available and reachable outside regular working hours to address emergencies and late admission to the shelter; - Prepare progress reports regularly, and ensure proper documentation and updating of the individual files of the residents;- Provide the residents with the utmost professional service in a safe and friendly environment, and make sure that they are well integrated in the common life of the shelter;- Abide by the internal rules and policies of the shelter, and the staff code of conduct. Do not discriminate among the residents on any grounds or status, and promote values of flexibility, diversity and equality, respect of dignity, and autonomy and empowerment;Ability to work for long hours and at night time in case of emergency
