The IT Assistant provides technical support to all NRC staff, helping develop and implement IT standards and policies, and provide technology support and solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The IT Assistant will help in the implementation and management of the software applications and hardware infrastructure that support NRC operations.

1. Roles and Responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities (max 10)
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
Prepares and files accurate records of department activities and ensures all information is accurate and available in time.
Identifies problems in the area of own activities.
Provides basic assistance, information and/or training to staff on department’s policies and procedures related to IT.
Ensure system security, network access privileges, applications, data storage and regular backups are configured and maintained.
Adheres to NRC policies and procedures, handbooks and guidelines and ensure that only standard IT policies and procedures are being implanted and followed at the office level.
Maintains working relationships with relevant local authorities and/or stakeholders.
Maintain and update records of all hardware and software at each area and share with the IT officer in Beirut.
Process all the installations, upgrades, updates, maintenance and license renewal requested by the IT officer in Beirut.
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
Provide first tier Technical Support to NRC staff in the operating office.
Connect users to the Wi-Fi network and troubleshoot their network connectivity issues.
Connect\troubleshoot printers and peripheral devices.
Install and monitor the antivirus software.
Manage the internal landline phone connectivity at the office.
Prepare laptops for new users and handle transfer and relocation of ICT equipment to staff.
Perform routine support tasks including, but not limited to: resolving windows problems, formatting, outlook setup, managing intranet access, cabling, etc.
Maintain documentation of processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Support in testing new equipment and provide thorough feedback on malfunctions
Support NRC staff in other offices when needed.
Critical interfaces
By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:
Work closely with support coordinator at the field level.
Coordinate ICT initiatives and new processes with IT officer in Beirut.
Support all staff on ICT related needs
Work with the logistics department on management of ICT assets.
2. Competencies

Generic professional competencies for this position:
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Education: Minimum BA in a relevant field.
Minimum 1-2 years in the IT domain.
Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Supported technologies including but are not limited to: wired and wireless networks, storage systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows OS, MS Office suites, end user workstations, laptops and various proprietary and commercial software applications and hardware.
