Waste Water Treatment Expert

JOB SUMMARY An experienced Expert in Waste Water Treatment is required to assist T.E.R.R.E.Liban in providing a comparative study on the different ways of treatment of waste water (especially septic tank, sewage treatment plant and Bio-digester) including detailed technical specs and cost for each method and recommendations in order to choose the greenest and most feasible method to be included in the design of each Municipal development BALADI project.   BACKGROUND The USAID BALADI project is a five-year program that extends from September 2012 until September 2017. It seeks to encourage innovation in service delivery by local governments. This project is implemented by Caritas Lebanon in nine Lebanese districts in partnership with T.E.R.R.E.Liban. It sponsors an in-kind competitive grants program that responds to governance and economic opportunity needs. All planned activities under this project should be compliant with USAID rules and local regulations.   TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES     Prepare a detailed comparative study on the different ways of waste water treatment especially septic tank, sewage treatment plant and Bio-digester including specs and cost for each waste water treatment method. Submit a detailed feasibility study for each method including maintenance. Provide the necessary technical recommendations in waste water treatment and advise T.E.R.R.E.Liban in choosing the greenest and most feasible way of treating waste water.   JOB TERMS   Up to Five days consultancy per week Communication and transportation are not paid   EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / JOB RELATED SKILLS            ·            Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or related disciplines          ·            At least 5 years of similar experience in waste water treatment is a must.          ·            USAID Experience is a plus (22FCR 216)          ·            Attention to accuracy and detail required          ·            Able to perform under tight deadlines          ·            Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, multi-task, meet deadlines and work with attention to detail.          ·            Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic; French is a plus          ·            Excellent reporting, communication and interpersonal skills          ·            Good computer applications skills.
