Clinical Psychologist

The main role of the Clinical Psychologist is the diagnosis or evaluation of the mental and emotional disorders of individuals by using one of the following: observation, interview, and/or psychological tests, and formulation of programs of treatment [e.g. referral for psychiatric treatment].   Main Responisbilities of the position: 1- Assess the individual needs, abilities or behaviour using different methods such as interviews and direct observation of behaviour; 2- Work within a team which might include doctors, nurses, social workers, education professionals, psychiatrists and therapists 3- Monitor appropriate treatment programmes such as therapy, counselling or advice, in collaboration with other professionals; 4- Offer therapy and treatments related to mental health problems such as:  anxiety, depression, addiction, social and interpersonal problems and challenging behaviour; 5- Intervention: individuals, families and groups; 6- Develop and evaluate services provided to different groups.   Skills and Qualifications: 1- A bachelor degree in Psychology is a minimum requirement. 2- Previous experience will be an asset. 3- Outstanding communication skills, reporting skills and excellent interpersonal skills. 4- Clinical psychologists should demonstrate self-awareness, objectivity, a strong desire to help others 5- Active Listener 6- High Integrity & honesty. 7- Kurdish and/or Arabic is a requirement. English, an asset.
