Psychologist

First Step Together Association is looking for a Psychologist to work within an AFKAR III, EU funded project “Increasing Resilience of Disadvantaged Communities in North Lebanon.” Responsibilities: Is able to provide psychological counseling to vulnerable women affected by armed conflicts and/or to children/youth with special needs. Respects the ethical and clinical considerations Familiar with the components of the psychological evaluations Detects the frequently seen psychological responses Knows how to interpret the psychological findings and formulate a clinical impression. Knows how the findings should be interpreted. Able to write a psychological evaluation report Studies the psychological history of the beneficiary; Documents the signs of a possible physical or psychological abuse; Interprets the proofs obtained and deduce their possible causes; Coordinates their work with social workers; Works with a multidisciplinary team Participates in creating a mental health sheet Writes Weekly reports participates in regular meetings Basic mental health interventions such as individual counseling and psychotherapy and group support interventions. Participates in defining effective and appropriate approaches and interventions Explores and detect potential risk factors influencing mental health status of the target population. Participates in any capacity building activities. Skills: Follows FISTA center policies and by laws Believes in concepts of human rights Respects each team member’s position Able to adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor Good communication skills Bachelors Degree in clinical psychology Having undergone his personal therapy Experience in working with vulnerable women and children/youth with special needs. Ability to work with patients from different backgrounds (cultural, ethnic….) Excellent command of English Ability to write reports
