Field Officer Beirut

General objective of the job   The Field Officer is a community mobilizer/facilitator for achieving the project objectives. S/he is also responsible for monitoring and administrating the project activities they are responsible for.   S/he will make sure that the targeted number is reached while supporting the partners.       Position in the organisation   The Field Officer is part of the Program Implementation Department reporting to the Project Manager. S/he manages the staff of the project s/he is responsible for. S/he collaborates with the specialists in the Program Development Department.       Result areas   Mobilizing and facilitating   Sets the schedule of activities in coordination with the facilitators; Ensures, promotes and facilitates that the principles of child protection and child participation are integrated into all project activities Meets with supervisors, and all staff of the centres/local organizations/associations and other relevant community representatives to discuss and follow up on various issues; Coordinates with partner focal points and youth leaders when appropriate to discuss possible project improvements Maintains good relationships with the partners;   Coordinates and follows up with the social workers , psychologists and facilitators including awareness sessions and referrals;     Result: Active participation in projects as a result of good mobilization and facilitation.     2.     Representation and support   Represents WCH Lebanon in relevant working groups and other coordination platforms as required by the Project Manager   Result: WCH-Lebanon is an active participant in all relevant groups and networks.   3.     Monitoring activities   Checks the safety of centres; Monitors the project activities in the field; Assesses partner performance to ensure the quality of the project; Reports on the alignment of the implemented activities with the child safety policy;   Result: Needed changes to projects are identified and implemented to ensure project quality including efficiency.   4.     Handling Administration activities   Handles cheques and receives bills from partners as per project schedule Collects from all partners the needed information and documents for the database for research, monitoring and evaluation purposes; Enters data on monthly basis according to the project requirements; Prepares and writes weekly , biweekly and monthly reports as required by the supervisor; Identifies, informs and discusses any issues with his/her supervisor on a timely basis;   Result: Administration is handled in a way to ensure proper reporting, filing, and data entry   5.     Participating in program and project design Identifies areas for selection of new partners in regions with high vulnerability; Makes suggestions for changes to the project design; Collects information necessary for the design of programmes and projects     Knowledge and Experience   Degree in social sciences or related field At least 1 year of relevant experience Preferably previous experience working with children/refuges/vulnerable populations   Skills and Competencies   Good facilitation skills Ability to work with minimum supervision Strong interpersonal skills Strong communication skills Good computer skills Fluency in Arabic Basic English fluency is an asset Flexibility Cultural sensitivity
