Hygiene Promotion Assistant

These attitudes and believes shall guide our actions and relationships. 1.      Role and responsibilities Facilitate Hygiene Promotion related activities and ensure compliance with plans and NRC guidelines. Mentor WASH focal points in settlements ensuring they are able to facilitate hygiene promotion activities Engage with WASH-CSMC community members ensuring there are included in the WASH intervention Familiarize yourself with new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the HP activities Perform transect-walks together with focal points assuring quality control of the activities, services Report all protection related concerns Participate in data collection, KAP surveys, PDMs Ensure registration and inclusion of new refugees, report referrals and ensure follow up and feedback to refugees and focal points involved. Report activities using distribution lists, attendance lists and Kobo online activity reporting Contribute to quality improvements of the NRC HP /WASH program Specific responsibilities Monitor targets and monitor behavioural changes on a regular basis in accordance with the M&E work plan Help expand the project to new locations if needed. Critical interfaces CSMC: ensure WASH focal points are (s)elected, trained and inclusive in the CSMC approach with referrals reported via the internal joint-online-reporting mechanism Shelter: coordinate on activities linked to shelter in settlements, and where applicable in SSU/SSB ICLA: familiar with and able to deal with referral cases, follow up communication with beneficiaries 2.      Competencies Qualifications Vocational training in teaching, nursing, public health or social worker Trained in Hygiene Promotion activities in informal settlements Generic professional competencies Experience from working with hygiene promotion projects in a humanitarian/recovery context Previous experience from working in NGOs in a hygiene promotion role Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities Some knowledge of English Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience Able to communicate with impact and respect while dealing with a sometimes stressful environment 3.       Behavioral competencies Managing resources and achieving results Communicating with impact respect Working with people Coping with cultural differences Communicating with impact and respect 4.       Performance Management Job Description Work and Development Plan Performance review (end-of-trial, quarterly) NRC Competency Framework
