Psychosocial Support Program Officer

Main Role To represent LRC’s Medical Social Department (MSD) as the Psychosocial Support (PSS) Program Officer. The PSS Program Officer will support the implementation the MSD’s PSS activities under the UNICEF funded LRC “Enhanced Psychosocial Support and Protection Capacity of Lebanese Red Cross Front Line Workers” Project. Main responsibilities will include coordinating and monitoring PSS/GBV/CP activities implemented through mobile medical units working in 43 locations, and capacity building of LRC MSD staff and volunteers. Essential Responsibilities and Duties   Operational Roles and Responsibilities Plan, develop, implement and monitor PSS activities for the MS department, in coordination with the LRC Under-Secretary General, DRC project manager, and MSD Director Work with the officers from DM and EMS to facilitate and promote cross-cutting results and team work across LRC departments Conduct monitoring field visits on a regular basis to the different project sites to ensure that activities
are being implemented according to the detailed implementation plans of the MS department, and in compliance with monitoring and evaluation tools, and where relevant provide support to Social Workers Provide regular feedback on field visits to LRC Under-Secretary General, DRC project manager, and MSD Director Participate in inter-departmental PSS committee meetings and UN coordination meetings/working groups at central level Coordinate participation of social workers in UN coordination meetings/working groups at regional level and provide feedback on meetings to PSS project officers and DRC project manager Submit timely and accurate monthly narrative and financial reports on the project activities of the MS department Provide technical support on psychosocial support, gender-based violence, and child protection to MS field teams in relation to project activities Facilitate or support project related trainings/workshops for staff and volunteers Coordinate with and support PSS trainers conducting courses for MS volunteers and staff Assist the DRC project manager in calling for project meetings, preparing agendas for meetings, ensuring feedback from the field, taking minutes and following up on the action points from these meetings according to agreed deadlines. Support consultants and the DRC project manager to plan baseline studies and evaluations Supports HQ to prepare field visits for donors  Function Specific Experience Experience in project management and the monitoring and evaluation of project activities Experience of writing monthly reports Experience in UNHCR coordination system Experience in providing technical supervision to field teams on Psychosocial Support and Child Protection and Gender Based Violence Experience in training field staff on Psychosocial Support, Child Protection and Gender Based Violence Experience in community health and development (for e.g. Community Based Health and First Aid) Computer Skills Driver’s license   Industry Related Experience Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset Experience of working for a humanitarian aid organization in Lebanon
