Focal Point

Funded by UNHCR, TDH Italy continues in implementing the education project “Improving access to education and community mobilization for refugee children in Beirut and Mount Lebanon”. The project aims to strengthen the resilience of Syrian and non Syrian Refugee community living in Mount Lebanon and Beirut, through organization of outreach activities, community-based monitoring and parents’ mobilization in order to promote, facilitate and increase the access to education for Syrian refugee children. In particular the Focal point will be responsible for supporting and facilitating in the out reaching and monitoring activities for the Syrians and non-Syrians refugees in Mount Lebanon and Beirut. Duties and Responsibilities Be the referent person for all the activities related to the back to schools, including 1st shift and 2nd shift; Liaise with the target schools and to be the representative of TDH It with the School Principals; Be the focal point for the Syrian and non- Syrian families with children in school age residing in the target area; Supporting the schools in the enrolment process of the Syrian and non-Syrian and vulnerable Lebanese children according the criteria set by MEHE and UNHCR; Ensure monitoring of project implementation in accordance with the Logical Framework; Ensure data collection and sources of verification; Program regular visits to the activities to ensure the quality of the project supporting in the process of monitoring and evaluation; Contribute to prepare relevant documents (including brochures, information notes, information board updates) for target communities; Assist with preparation of outreach work and materials in the field; Providing timely and detailed reporting of project activities to the Education Coordinator; Timely identify, inform and discuss any issues with the Project Manager; Work closely and effectively with TDH-It Lebanon staff; Represents TDH-It in field base multi agency and overall interagency cluster where appropriate. Qualifications and experience A university degree is required. Good knowledge of the community resources within the municipality/school district; Good knowledge of the local community and population;  Familiarity with interview techniques; familiarity with local social agencies available to deal with problems in the area; Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English and Arabic sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position; Availability of driving license Excellent communication skills – written and verbal Commitment to the aims, principles and values of TDH IT. Ability to work well in a team and under pressure and in response to changing needs. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
