Airport Assistant

General: Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Operations officer the incumbent will perform the following functions: Assist refugees and migrants travelling under auspices of IOM with departure procedures at the airport, incl. check-in processes, immigration formalities and boarding procedures. Coordinate IOM assisted movements with airlines to ensure a smooth check-in process. Prepare IOM bags, pink cards and luggage tags and complete departure arrangements for refugees including signing of Promissory Notes and Warrants. Attend to any special needs for refugees and other migrants, including medical cases and unaccompanied minors. Provide meals and other arrangements whenever necessary in coordination with the Operations department. Inform Sr. Operations Assistants of any flight changes, delays, no shows, or other unforeseen circumstances. Confirm departure to Operations Assistants and advise bag count when necessary. Meet and assist IOM staff or other persons in need of assistance upon arrival in Beirut International Airport. Assist Operations unit at Beirut office in all administrative and clerical matters including the completion of travel documents or documentation related to exit formalities of departing migrants and refugees Assist in conducting pre-departure briefings to refugees concerning departure procedures, flight details, and luggage allowance. Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
