It Officer

Job Purpose The IT officer monitors and maintains the computer systems and networks of the organization; he/she installs and configures computer systems, diagnoses hardware and software faults and solves technical problems remotely. Duties & Responsibilities The IT officer is responsible for the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. Tasks may include but not limited to the following: Administering and troubleshooting windows server (Domain, DCP, DNS, WSUS); Installing networks connectivity through all the office and troubleshooting problems; Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks; Supporting users locally and remotely; Troubleshooting systems and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults; Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues; Installing and troubleshooting network printers; Managing the inventory of ICT related equipment; Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment; Testing and evaluating new technology; Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports; Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate); Assisting others whenever possible and flexibility in working after hours if needed. Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer networking and hardware; or any similar degree in an IT related field; Knowledge in windows Server; Ability to think logically and prioritize the workload; Min 5 years experience as an IT officer/ Engineer; Problem solving skills; Ability to work well in a team; Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with staff to establish what the problem is and explain the solution.
