Legal Assistant

  Main legal issues to be covered: -          Family Law -          Legal identity including obtaining civil documentation necessary to access rights and services (birth registration, marriage registration) -          Citizenship and statelessness issues related to displacement   Exceptionally, the team may engage in other thematic areas based on needs and external requests.   Generic Duties: Conduct basic interviews with refugees in order to assess legal and urgent protection needs. Provide legal information to beneficiaries on main legal issues encountered. Plan and facilitate awareness sessions for the Refugees community on different legal topics. Be involved in the office organization of awareness sessions or any other topic to be decided according to the need, in close coordination with the National Protection Officer for Legal Assistance. Respect deadline for the delivering of weekly reports and databases and any kind of urgent reporting to the National Protection Officer for Legal Assistance. Any other task not listed here but necessary to the project and activities. Available to work extra hours and available at the weekend for emergency cases. Attend meetings and workshop/training as requested by the National Protection Officer for Legal Assistance and the Protection Manager     Specific Duties:   1.Compiling the legal database and sharing it with the National Protection Officer for Legal Assistance on a weekly basis 2. Answer the legal hotline and provide beneficiaries with the info requested. Manage the tracking of the hotline call in the tracking sheet. 3. Proving input on legal assistance activities, needs, gaps, trends etc  for the compilation of the monthly report for UNHCR 5. Conducting info sharing and individual counseling for beneficiaries on legal topics in particular focusing on outreach 6. Conducting awareness sessions for beneficiaries on legal topics in particular focusing on outreach 7. Provide paralegal ROVs with trainings, support and capacity building 8. Be responsible for INTERSOS legal team outreach activities in the settlements
