Logistics Manager (Lebanese National Staff Only)

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who has the skills to engage in our organization as a Logistics Manager.     Who are we  The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assitance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.  For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.ngo   About the job  The Logistics Managerreports to the Head of Logistics and Procurement and is responsible for all logistical functions including supply chain management, fleet management, assets, warehousing,and communications in coordination with other operations staff.     Duties  • Plan and manage the capacity building of all logistics staff in Beirut office and support Area Logistics Managers with capacity building of Logistics activities across DRC Lebanon offices  • Ensure compliance with DRC Operations Handbook regulations related to fleet management, assets, warehousing, receipt of goods, etc.   • Develop SOPs and guidelines for fleet management in consultation with the Head of Logistics and Procurement   • Manage the DRC fleet and drivers including movement planning, maintenance of vehicles, GPS tracking, etc.   • Review effectiveness of existing fleet allocation system and provide recommendations for increased efficiency  • Ensure rationalization of DRC fleet across field offices and monitor utilization rates on a monthly basis   • Serve as focal point for GPS tracking system and maintain and updated list of vehicles, drivers, and locations on the system  • Oversee the compilation of regular fuel consumption reports and monthly vehicle utilization analysis and ensure adherence to DRC Lebanon vehicle policy  • Oversee all tasks related to asset management including maintaining the asset register, asset cards, and personal issue forms. Perform a quarterly physical asset verification  • Support with warehouse management tasks when required including ensuring warehouse documentation is maintained in accordance with DRC policies, overseeing deliveries to and dispatches from DRC warehouses and checking stocks levels   About you  To be successful in this role you must have:  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field.   • Experience in supply chain management in an emergency environment including transport and distribution, warehouse and stock management  • Experience in vehicle and fleet management  • Experience of building and developing the capacity of logistics staff through the use of training, performance management frameworks and development plans  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills  • Excellent IT skills  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic  • Commitment to and understanding of DRC’s aims, values and principles   Ideally you will also have:  • Experience working with an international NGO in a similar capacity/role  • Relevant qualifications or training courses.   We offer  An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from June 2016 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.  Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
