We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who can fit the position of Municipal Support Assistant in Municipality of Machta Hammoud, Akkar.
Who are we?
DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

Supporting the municipality in its work with displacement affected communities.
Duties
• Share information on available services with Syrian refugees and displacement affected community, including newcomers, and refer them to UNHCR for registration and targeted assistance.
• Support the municipality with carrying out assessments to identify local needs.
• Conduct service mapping of all agencies (LNGOs, INGOs, CBOs, CSO…etc.) operating in the area to determine what services are being offered and which projects are being implemented.
• Monitor the humanitarian situation to deliver weekly situational reports to the Head of Municipality and DRC.
• Support in organizing activitiesincluding, but not limited to, events and trainings for municipality staff on humanitarian issues and services in Lebanon,as per DRC advice.
• Participate in trainings organized by DRC when required (giving 1-2 days notice to the Head of Municipality).
• Support the work of the DRC Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) consultant in her/his development of a municipality EPRP plan.
• Assist the municipality in conducting other relevant administrative tasks including, but not limited to, filing and the writing of meeting minutes.
About you
To be successful in this role you must be from Machta Hamoud, have High school diploma and minimum 1 year experience in humanitarian or similar field
Ideally you will also have Bachelor Degree in social field and experience working with NGOs and municipalities.
We offer
An interesting job in one of theworld’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant contract until 15 September 2016, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from June 2016 and be willing and able to work in Machta Hamoud Municipality.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B 1, equivalent to 1,250 $ per month.
