In partnership with Heartland Alliance, AND is currently running mobile and static safe women spaces that provides holistic services focusing on psychosocial support, violence prevention, livelihoods strengthening and social cohesion to diverse vulnerable populations affected by the Syrian refugee crisis, including women and girls, and survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), torture and trauma.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The GBV Officer will be based in Akkar and will be responsible for contributing to the timely and quality implementation of activities, deliver continuous technical coaching, perform monitoring and evaluation of the quality of GBV related work at AND, and capacity building for case managers and frontline staff in Akkar on GBV response and prevention.
The GBV officer will serve as the focal point for AND for coordinating all activities. Other responsibilities involve assisting in the technical oversight of all management components of the project, including, but not limited to:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate with partners and appropriate experts for project planning related to the continued delivery of the full Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) response and prevention package in two Social Development Centers (SDCs) in Akkar targeted towards Government, civil society actors, caregivers, community members, and children.
Further build the organizational and technical capacity of AND staff to be able to continue providing high quality services to SGBV survivor women and girls or at risk of SGBV both in-center and in the community.
Coordinate with NGO partners regarding training and implementation of legal components of the project, including support for implementation of training and technical assistance efforts;
Coordinate with NGO and government mental health partners regarding training and implementation of mental health components of the project, including support for implementation of training and technical assistance efforts;
Provide technical GBV support to the team in the timely completion of all reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, final and any other required, ensuring reports are of an acceptable standard;
Assist with general GBV program operations and field-based activity.
Support key program staff to ensure that activities run effectively and make best use of project resources.
Manage the program filing system for all activities and ensure that information is organized accordingly to the reporting and auditing needs of the program. Ensure required levels of confidentiality.
Maintain, monitor and measure GBV project implementation data entry.
Work closely with administrative and finance staffs to ensure proper logistics, administration, human resources and transport needs of the program are conducted within AND and HAI policy and with the maximum benefit to the program.
Communicate and document support for project staff and partners, as needed, including translation and interpretation, primarily to facilitate staff and partner communication.
Follow through on program needs as required, such as procurement, meeting scheduling, etc.
Such other tasks as needed for effective implementation of the project.
Coordinate with HAI media regarding implementation of media components of the project;
Assist in the coordination of community-based education and media advocacy campaigns.

Education and/or Experience:
Undergraduate degree in social sciences or Law; or other related fields.
At least 3 years experience working on issues related to gender based violence or trauma rehabilitation;
A degree in social work or Health is a strongly desired
Fluency in Arabic and English for conversation, note taking and reporting.
Resilience: This project will address some very difficult and sensitive social issues.
