Proposal Writer

Proposal Writer Job Responsibilities: Prepares proposals by determining concept; gathering and formatting information; writing drafts; obtaining approvals.  Has a wide knowledge in writing proposals for donor agencies. Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international foundations and private corporations offering donations) Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities  Writing concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission Maintaining relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization Making sure that proposals in progress are in compliance with instructions, managing production and the distribution of all work documents and ensuring proposal formatting  multi-tasking on different projects simultaneously and with tight deadlines  Willingness and ability to adapt and learn in a fast-moving environment Must be willing to work evenings or on weekends on occasion to meet proposal deadlines Strong computer skills, interpersonal skills, networking skills and ability to grasp new technology Excellent research and writing skills  Ability to write persuasively and articulately   Writing Skills:  Proposal writers must have excellent language. Great spelling, punctuation and grammar count, as well as the ability to write clearly and transform complex ideas down into simple explanations. Creativity: Proposal writers need to understand their audience and creatively explain ideas in a way that will be appealing. Time Management: Proposals are often on a deadline. Being able to write with time in mind is key. Organization: Proposal writers often work on many projects at once. Staying organized will help the writer.
