Field Activity Officer (Fao)

All INTERSOS employees and consultants are expected to perform their roles and responsibilities according to INTERSOS chart of values and code of ethics. The job description is mandatory for all position within INTERSOS and shall be signed by employee within the first week of employment.     Job Title        : Field Activity Officer (FAO) Reports to       : Coordinator of Field Operations (CFO) and Project Manager (PM) Duty Station    : Sour area, South Lebanon   Position Type  : Full Time Salary              : 1.700 USD (net salary)[1]   Job Purpose: With the support and supervision of the COF and the PM, the FAO is responsible for the correct and efficient implementation of the project activities in the assigned area and for the overall supervision of the projects’ teams. Provide ongoing oversight, leadership, and guidance to the staff teams to ensure that the projects meet high quality and best practice standards and prioritize the safety and security of beneficiaries and staff.   Generic Duties: Provide oversight, leadership, and guidance to the staff to ensure that i) the activities  meet high quality and best practice standards and ii) the staff respect INTERSOS internal rules. Support the staff teams through the development of a technically sound (monthly & weekly) work plan and reports consistent with the goals and objectives of the project. Collaborate with the technical staff (ex. psychosocial coordinator and psychologist) to plan and monitor the correct implementation of specific activities and strengthen the knowledge of the staff. Ensure that the reports are prepared according to the tools adopted and timely delivered. Accordingly to INTERSOS strategy and with the collaboration of the staff, liaise with local stakeholders, service providers, local government bodies and other community services centers for strengthening joint planning and synergies for community participation. Strengthen coordination and collaboration between INTERSOS projects in the same area of intervention. Participate in the recruitment of project staff and provide regular objective feedback with regards to staff performance (evaluate performance and delivery against job descriptions), expectations and areas for growth and professional development. Other: Participate to protection and coordination meetings Be available for eventual trainings provided by INTERSOS or external stakeholders. Represent INTERSOS in the area of intervention and maintain positive coordination and relationships with NGOs / INGOs and local institutions present in the field. Perform other related duties upon request to support the project team and the project implementation process. Ensure smooth communication and coordination between the projects’ team.   Other Specific Duties: update the existing mapping of Community based organizations (CBOs) and stakeholders present in the assigned area on the base of provided ad hoc tools; create a directory of services available in the area of intervention and/or update the existing one; support and facilitate outreach activities conducted by project’ members; plan and organize project staff’ work in the field in order to attend set results in terms of timing and qualitative and quantitative achievements; organize weekly/monthly staff meetings in order to analyse strength and difficulties in the activities implementation, sharing ideas and priorities; conduct field visits to supervise the implementation of the activities by the project’ team; report on weekly and monthly basis to the CFO and to the PM on the activities implemented; collaborate with technical staff (Social Development Coordinator, Psychosocial –PSS- coordinator, Gender Based Violence –GBV- Coordinator and Community Mobilizer trainer) on the development of tools, programmes and activities to be adopted / realized in the field; promote collaboration with CBOs and any other stakeholder present in the area, involving its members in the participation of the activities; collaborate with other INTERSOS projects ensuring filling gaps and punctual referral to activities and services available; establish and maintain relations with identified Social Development Centers (SDCs); be responsible for drafting Local Action Plans (LAPs) for identified SDCs, to be validated by the Social Development Coordinator; participate in mobilization of community members and community groups in identifying Child Protection (CP) and Gender Based Violence 9GBV) gaps and needs to be mitigate through the  realization of community led initiatives; be responsible for the respect of LAPs by SDCs and for the general involvement of SDCs staff in the implementation of activities;    prepare, on the base of inputs received from staff members, and submit to the CFO and the PM weekly “liquidity plan”, according to budget available;  be responsible for the weekly amount entrusted for the realization of activities; ensure that the relevant financial documentation is completed accurately as required (invoice, Purchase Order, Fuel Track /Car Logbook); be available to participate in meetings in the Women and Girls Safe Space in Tyre or in any other INTERSOS offices under specific request of the CFO and the PM;   be available to participate in trainings provided by INTERSOS and/or by any other INGO/NGO; be available to provide technical support to animators, social workers and community mobilizers through punctual training and coaching identifying lessons learned and best gateways to reach the project’ objectives; meet with other INTERSOS projects staff presents in the same area in order to coordinate the work in the field; maintain positive coordination and relationships with institutional partners, INGO, NGO and donors by liaising and collaborating when required; coordinate with the INTERSOS Logistic Department for i) refreshment and material delivery and ii) centers maintenance; ensure that the provided material is properly used, kept, cleaned and recorder in the inventory; ensure that centers used are in order and clean; ensure the storage and distribution of healthy refreshment and other supplies; be responsible for the identification of vulnerable cases by field staff, CBOs and SDCs staff, community groups and community members and for their referral to  available service providers on the base of referral pathways adopted by INTERSOS.     Education: Adanced Diploma in social science, management, international development or other relevant fields   Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)   Professional Competencies: -       2 to 3 years work experience in implementing coordination activities and managing them; -       Experience in management of small budget -       Analytical and reporting skills -       Good knowledge of English; -       Knowledge CP and GBV issues; -       Strong organizational skills; -       Strong interpersonal skill and communication skills; -       Good knowledge word and excel; -       Driving license holder   Behavioural competencies: -                       Neutrality -                       High flexibility -                       Excellent coordination skills -       Example role toward the other staff & very good working relation with all the INTERSOS staff, at all echelons -                       Clear & timely communications to line management on any problems, issues raised in the center    Languages: -                      Fluency in spoken and written English  and Arabic   [1] Salary subject to variation due to the seniority in the organization and the acceptance of the salary grid by donors; net salary doesn’t include the transportation allowance.
