Diversity Friendly Project Coordinator

The Lebanese Medical Association for Sexual Health (LebMASH) is a non-governmental organization with the aim of advancing LGBT health and the sexual health for all individuals in Lebanon with particular focus on marginalized populations.  LebMASH is  seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee and conduct a research project aimed at advancing LGBT individuals’ access to health care, by developing and publishing a database of ‘diversity friendly’ health care providers who provide excellent quality, LGBT-sensitive services in a non-discriminatory manner.  This position requires a highly organized, dependable and motivated individual who believes in the mission and objectives of LebMASH and shares its core values. Responsibilities include: Develop and implement  the above-described research project. Develop effective health care providers recruitment strategies Develop and implement a tool to assess the LGBT sensitivity and competence of health care providers Develop effective techniques to obtain feedback from LGBT health care consumers Coordination and maintenance of compliance with high research standards Supervise database development, management and maintenance The project coordinator will: Coordinate all aspects of the research study and database development Oversee and participate in the implementation of the research tool and data collection Identify research study participates and plan recruitment strategies Oversee and participate in the database development Hire and supervise an IT consultant for database development and maintenance Communicate the progress and implementation of the project with LebMASH board of directors and LebMASH executive director. Reporting monthly to the executive director and the board on the project’s evolution Keep confidential and accurate records of the collected data. Manage the  the study budget under the supervision of LebMASH Board and executive director. Purchase supplies as needed for the research project. Work closely with the volunteers assisting the project coordinator in the research Perform other tasks needed for implementation of the project. Submit report at the completion of the project Minimum Qualifications Degree in Public Health or other health-related field, including epidemiology or biostatistics Demonstrated experience in research Experience in working for an NGO in Lebanon Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a health-related field, such as public health, nursing, mental health or sociology. At least 2 years of experience working in research, preferably in the area of public health. At least 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in a health-related field. Skills Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic (required), English (required), and French (desired) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills Excellent computer skills Experience with SPSS or other database management programs is a plus To Apply The applicant must reside in Lebanon and be eligible to work in Lebanon.
