Who are we?
The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assitance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.

Duties
• Work closely with the IM Coordinator and the MEL Management Team (MELMT) to ensure proper implementation of the MEL/IM Strategy and update it with the relevant teams whenever necessary;
• Manage the MEL Officer for CP & GBV and the Analyst (Protection) and ensure the proper delivery of reports and technical products through close cooperation with the Protection Coordinator;
• Manage the Senior MEL Officer and ensure the proper delivery of reports and technical products through close cooperation with the DfID Program Coordinator;
• Support the MELMT inthe development, update, and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans across all DRC Lebanon projects, sectors, and field offices
• Develop a MEL work plan based on the DRC Lebanon MEL strategy and M&E plans for ongoing projects and ensure its implementation
• Coordinate the design and implementation of monitoring systems and tools for DRC Lebanon projects, working closely with the MELMT and Area Managers/Sub-Area Managers/Area Programme Managers;
• Develop and strengthen the MEL Unit – including support to both junior and senior staff recruitment/performance management and the implementation of a junior and senior staff training/capacity building plan.
• Lead development of evaluation TORs and evaluation design, planning and Manage t in country evaluations as required
• Assist field-based MEL staff to develop and improve tools and methods for information/data collection;
• Support the development and implementation of assessment and profiling tools, working with programme/sector field managers;
About you
To be successful in this role you must have:
• A Bachelor degree in social sciences, community or international development, public health, social work or similar.
• Strong IT skills – particularly with Microsoft Office suite (good Excel skills essential).
Essential experience:
• A minimum of five years of experience in humanitarian and/or development work, with at least three years in a position with M&E responsibilities.
• At least three year of experience in either a management or coordination role.
• Training and capacity development experience.
• Experience in participatory assessments and monitoring, qualitative data processing/analysis, facilitation and interviews with groups and individuals.
• Familiarity with new technologies for data collection, including applications such as ODK or similar and their design, coding, and analytical processing.
• Good contextual knowledge of Lebanon – including national/local issues, community priorities, social and cultural realities/constraints, and organizational relationships.

An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from June 2016 and be willing and able to work in Beirut with frequent travel to the field.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. This position will be placed at level E+ Level, equivalent to 3502 USD per month.
