Social Worker

  Job description   All INTERSOS employees and consultants are expected to perform their roles and responsibilities according to INTERSOS chart of values and code of ethics. The job description is mandatory for all position within INTERSOS and shall be signed by employee within the first week of employment.     Job Title        : Social Worker Reports to       : Project Manager and/or Senior Social Worker Duty Station    : South Position Type   : Full time   Project: Microgardening and Nutrition for Vulnerable Syrian Refugees and Vulnerable Lebanese   Job Purpose: The Social Worker implements activities and/or trainings in INTERSOS centers and outreach working directly with women, men, youth and children;     Generic Duties: Plan and conduct daily structured activities (recreational, psychosocial and non-formal education) within the center or outside, catering to the needs of children of different ages and genders and accordingly to the center activities weekly schedule; Contribute to the implementation of activities in the kitchen gardens specified in the project Participate in the organization and implementation of nutrition awareness sessions as per the project plan Participate in the organization and implementation of nutrition and agricultural trainings as per the project plan Conduct focus groups discussions, informal skill training and awareness sessions with children, youth, men and women, according to the weekly schedule of activities; Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities held at the assigned center, notably the most vulnerable ones (refugees, local community, youth, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities etc.) Plan and design the PSS activities in collaboration with supervisors, the PSS coordinator and all the team members, according to INTERSOS guidelines; Engage ROVs in the planned project activities; Maintain daily attendance registers and a weekly and monthly inventory sheets for each activity conducted in collaboration with supervisors; Maintain and fill properly any distribution or attendance lists for the activities conducted or the distribution done, under the supervision of supervisors Informs the supervisors about any difficulties met in INTERSOS activities implementation; Be updated about all new information sent by the PM concerning the project, the context and the beneficiaries; Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers and/or in Intersos Beirut office when requested; Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or the PM.                                              Education: University Degree in Social work.   Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)   Professional and Behavioural competencies:   -       A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience is required. -       Strong observation, analytical and listening skills -       Team player -       Respectful and caring attitude towards beneficiaries -       Excellent Communication skills -       Ethical and transparent decision-making; -       Respect of confidentiality and data protection protocols; -       Self-motivation, goal/result-orientation and team work; -       Flexibility, tolerance and maturity. -       Patience and the ability to remain under stress -       Flexibility to adapt to new roles, tasks and situations   Languages:   -                      Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English;
