PREMIERE URGENCE AIDE MEDICALE INTERNATIONALE LEBANON       Protection Field Officer   Première Urgence – Aide Médicale Internationale is a not-for-profit, non-political and non-religious NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity. PU-AMI’s involvement in the Syrian Crisis is strong, with a wide range of programs implemented in most of the countries affected by the conflict.   PU-AMI’s main objective in Lebanon for the years 2015/2016 is to provide a protection-based holistic response, covering the basic needs of refugees and host communities in Beirut, Saida, Mount Lebanon and Akkar districts.   A multi-sectorial portfolio of activities (Psychosocial, Education, Health, WASH, Food Security, Infrastructure, Shelter Rehabilitation and IS/CS Management - Protection) is addressing refugees and host population’s vulnerabilities, by enabling individuals and communities to achieve respect for rights in safety and dignity.   PU-AMI is also seeking more sustainable and cost-efficient modalities of implementation, mainly by building partnerships with local organizations and existing public entities, which will contribute to bridge the humanitarian assistance delivered to refugees with specific community support projects, in order to strengthen the social cohesion between communities.   Consequently, PU-AMI’s 2015-2016 Country Strategy is based on 2 programs: A Humanitarian Assistance Program: providing a protection-based humanitarian material assistance and services to the most vulnerable refugees and people affected by the Syrian Crisis. A Resilience Program: developing and strengthening community-level infrastructures as well as supporting household-level economic empowerment and well-being, with regards to specific poor and vulnerable groups, including women and people with disabilities.   POSITION GENERAL INFORMATION   Position: Field Officer Component: Protection Based in: Akkar   Supervision   Under the direct supervision of:        Protection & Community Outreach Manager Under the overall supervision of:      Field  Coordinator       OVERALL MISSION   General objective   Under the direct supervision of the Protection & Community Outreach Manager, the Protection Field Officer is responsible for the qualitative, quantitative and timely implementation of the activities linked to Emergency Cash Assistance and is also participating in CSMC activities, protection, community mobilization, individual case referral and awareness sessions.   Responsibilities and tasks   Emergency Cash Assistance activities, in coordination with the AME department   The use of Emergency Cash Assistance has been developed to meet the increasing need for rapid cash injection to vulnerable households, and fight the increasing risk and prevalence of evictions. Identify Households in need : through internal and external referrals of PU-AMI Conduct interagency socio-economic vulnerability assessment Lead and organize cash distribution according to the decision meeting Monitor the situation of the beneficiaries   CSMC Activities   Participate in all Protection program activities, mainly: Update census Build trustful relation with the community; Identify, reporting and referring individual cases and follow up on them Mobilize community participation, information management Conduct awareness sessions Gather information about all other actors intervene in the site Respect the design (activity chart) and required methodology of the works Respect the principles of humanitarian protection and confidentiality Follow the security rules to ensure security on-site Provide technical guidance and follow up to Focal Points, daily workers, Community members and volunteers   Communication & Follow-up   Be daily present on the different ITS/CS and respond to beneficiaries’ queries with good knowledge of relevant information. Prepare information leaflets to be distributed on site Refer special cases which need individual attention and follow their progress with the different stakeholders.   Reporting   Report on the progress of Protection activities on a daily and weekly basis; Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the Protection and Community Outreach Manager, Akkar – Lebanon   The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.   QUALIFICATIONS   Mandatory requirements    Language skills: Fluent in English and Arabic Education degree: On-site training in protection or social sciences Work experience: 1 year experience in a similar position (NGOs/private companies) in protection and cash assistance fields Computer skills: Basic Microsoft Office proficiency, at least Word Other: Valid driving license (for more 1 year minimum) Basic knowledge in protection, community mobilization, social works Good knowledge of South Governorate, willing to travel a lot locally Good communication skills with beneficiaries
