LPHU Lebanese Physical Handicapped Union -LPHU- is a grass roots organization built by and for people with disability. We believe that we have an important role to play in arriving at our vision of society by working with people with disabilities, a population that has been traditionally marginalized . MPDL Movement for Peace – MPDL- is a Spanish NGO present in Lebanon since 1997 and operating both in the development and in the humanitarian field. Since that time MPDL has mainstreamed persons with specific needs in its activities. Job Description: Project Manager. Reporting directly to the Head of Mission from MPDL, he/she will be on charge of the following tasks: • Coordination: it is his/her responsibility the correct implementation and coordination of the project on the field: a) To Manage and guide the implementation of the planned activities and budget on schedule planned. b) Articulate through meetings, work plans and coordination, etc., the project activities /s with MPDL’s manager (weather with the Head of Mission or with the Project Manager on the field). And then after, implement all actions needed to execute the activities following the previous planning agreed. c) Monitor and assess the work of local staff assigned to the project /s. d) Participate with the partner in the evaluation of the performance of the local staff on change for the project /s. He/she will also assess on the ways for improving the performance of assigned tasks. e) Preparation of annual operating plans and global project /s, as well as on the identification and formulation of any proposals (Logical framework, budget, letters for supporting the project, and any other information required by MPDL’s staff). f) Report monthly through a report that must be sent to the Head of Mission or the Project Manager on the field, reporting on the general development project / s possible incidents g) Replace the Head of Mission in the absence of this in it, according to the instructions and guidelines given by your Area Manager. h) Be in charge of the monitoring and supervision over MPDL’s patrimony acquired on the frame of the project /s, and their proper management and the preparation and updating of inventory, according to the terms of the manual of procedures during project implementation. • Institutional Affairs: a) In partnership with MPDL (when necessary) meetings with the local authorities, donors, NGOs and other international organizations, related to the project /, to develop operational activities. b) Report to the Head of Mission on meetings, contacts, conversations and information arising from its institutional relations within the framework of its competence, aforementioned. c) Take the necessary institutional position before meetings or events with other external organizations (NGOs, partners, funders, other agencies) regarding the project. • Economic and financial: a) He/She will supervise administrative and financial management of the project / s, acting in accordance with the instructions of the Administration and the Economic procedures set, according to the regulation of the donor, and MPDL’s procedures established. b) Be responsible for preparing monthly financial reports in accordance with the instructions established by the donor’s regulation. c) Be responsible for making periodic cost estimates and make corresponding requests for transfers of funds to the Head of Mission (MPDL) according to MPDL procedures. d) Classification and custody of all documents generated by the project / s, and sending supporting documents for the project. • Technical: a) He/She will be on charge for the achievement of the objectives of the project. b) Preparing technical reports required by the Head of Mission from MPDL, in accordance with the procedures and guidelines set by the donor and the procedures signed on the MoU. c) Participate according to the work plan and the instructions given by the Head of Mission from MPDL (in coordination with Headquarters) in the process of identification and formulation of new activities and projects. Requirements: Good organisational skills, co-ordination and the transfer of knowledge Excellent communication skills and a commitment to team work English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written) Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills Ability to develop the links and continuum between relief activities and development projects Motivated by constant programme adaptation to an evaluating context and set up of partnerships with local and international partners Ability to work under high pressure Ability to work in a tense context with strict security measures Proven experience in project writing and reporting Experience in the humanitarian sector and with persons with special needs is desirable.   Requirements: Good organisational skills, co-ordination and the transfer of knowledge Excellent communication skills and a commitment to team work English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written) Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills Ability to develop the links and continuum between relief activities and development projects Motivated by constant programme adaptation to an evaluating context and set up of partnerships with local and international partners Ability to work under high-pressure Ability to work in a tense context with strict security measures Proven experience in project writing and reporting Experience in the humanitarian sector and with persons with special needs is desirable.
