Communication Advisor / Middle East

Since 2008, Medecins du Monde put in place actions and communication tools in order to reinforce the visibility of the association in the Middle East countries where program are implemented. Under the responsibility of the MdM regional representative based in Amman, and in connection with the communication department of MdM-France, the communication advisor Middle East has for mission to support the teams on the field in the region in the definition and implementation of a country communication plan as well as outspreading the regional communication strategy. Countries: Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Palestine, Egypt, Yemen, Iraq.  The position is based in Beirut, Lebanon with field visits to the countries where MdM is located. Tasks and Responsibilities   1/ Definition and facilitation of the regional and country communication plans. -          Develop media monitoring in the region. -          In connection with the ‘tryptique’ (field/desk/mission responsible), and the communication department, support the team on the field to choose messages and communication tools from the program content. -          Identify communication opportunities (birthdays, international days, opening/closing of projects...), propose and put in place communication actions in each country of the region. 2/ Design and implementation of communication tools -          Creation of communication tools contributing to reinforce MdM visibility in the countries of the region (brochures, photo reports, testimony). -          Writing of articles for the MdM communication media. -          Collection of testimonies from the beneficiaries for the program. -          Organization of videos, audio and photos reports produced by MdM, in connection with the communications department -          Accompany journalist on the programs. -          Exceptionally support information feedbacks in case of emergency.   3/ Web and digital communication -          Manage MdM Middle East website. -          Creation and update of the content following validation procedures. -          Update of the social networks.   SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:   You have a minimum 2/3 years’ experience in Communication. You have significant experience in a similar position in an NGO. You work with reactivity, anticipation, adaptability and capacity to take initiatives to changing requirements. You have good organizational skills, rigor, time management and ability to meet deadlines as well as working under pressure. You have listening and diplomacy skills. Your experience working in a Middle East country is appreciable. Your experience in humanitarian and development context is highly appreciated.   Languages: English fluent (oral and written) Arabic fluent (oral and written) French (oral and written)   You are committed to MdM’s values as an organisation and motivated by its non-statutory, NFP model.
