Community Midwife

Major Duties and Responsibilities Health Project Management Start up and implement a community based maternal health project which includes: Promotion of and referral to RH services (ANC and PNC) provided in SDC clinics Conducting post-natal visits to newly delivered women and their infants (not later than 2 weeks after birth) Promotion and awareness raising of and the availability of family planning methods and services for women in reproductive age Provision of  health promotion on reproductive health . Work closely with the CHVs to identify pregnant women in need for ANC services and  newly delivered women and their infants in need for a PNC visits Assist in the provision of reproductive health services (e.g. insertion of IUDs) in SDC clinics if needed and requested by the health manager Ensure that data entry forms and templates are used correctly and data is managed timely and with high quality. Submit timely weekly and monthly reports to the health manager. Support the development and management of a quality health management information system, feeding data into appropriate channels (MoSA , UNHCR, MoPH).http://daleel-madani.org/node/add/job-vacancy Communication and Coordination Act as link between Medair and ITS; Build and maintain good relationships between SDC clinic staff and women in need for reproductive health services Attend on request by the Health Manager/Project Manager RH related coordination meetings on behalf of Medair. Maintain a transparent, honest and supportive communication structure with, SDCs staff and Medair team and with communities in the ITS. Coordinate closely with the Health Officer Community Mobilization so that the PHC clinic based activities and community based activities interlink and complement each other. Logistics Will be involved in pharmacy management as needed   Quality Management Ensure that all standardised formats are used and guidelines are followed.   Delegated Responsibilities Any other tasks as delegated by Health Project Manager or Project Coordinator   Person Specification and Competencies 2 years post-qualification medical professional experience, at least 1 year management experience Native Arabic Speaker, Good English ( oral and written) Passionate about serving the poor Self-motivated willingness to support others and to share workload Aptitude for capacity-building Experience in training/mentoring/coaching staff Capacityto work under pressure and manage personal stress levels Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner Ability to manage project implementation Good numerical, report writing and administration skills Problem solving ability Clinical skills within a Primary Health Care setting Ablke to prioritise clearly and oversee multiple tasks Able to consult and lead by example Good understanding of humanitarian work Able to take the initiative in project decisions Able to enforce procedures Able to set clear objectives for staff and to delegate
