Placement And Training Assistant (National Staff Only)

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who can be responsible for supporting the Livelihood Project Manager in the follow up of selected/placed beneficiaries in vocational trainings, apprenticeship and job referrals. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.ngo   About the jobIn the framework of a livelihood programming, an intervention is being launched aimed at contributing towards the self-reliance, resilience and social stability of vulnerable people in Lebanon, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC)is planning to extend livelihood activities in the North of Lebanon, in Tripoli. Programme beneficiaries will be directly supported through participation in vocational training, participation in apprenticeship programmes, job referrals, among others. For this, DRC will reach out to job-seekers as well as to employers, seeking to facilitate the matchmaking process, while also strengthening competencies among the labor force, and promoting decent working conditions at the work place.   Duties•    Participate in the organization of FGDs and information sessions with/for beneficiaries•    Support in the enrolment and regular attendance of beneficiaries in skills development trainings•    Collect all information sheets (beneficiary lists, registration forms, distribution lists, and others) at the training venue and submit them to the Database Officer on a timely basis•    Ensure publication of job vacancies and other career opportunities•    Schedule interviews with registered job seekers for job, trainings and other available vacancies About youTo be successful in this role you must be a fresh graduate in Social Sciences or equivalent, you must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility and the ability to maintain confidentiality,respect,non-discrimination of beneficiaries at all times. You must also have minimum two years of work in similar positions and previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Ideally you will also have a previous INGO experience and have fair experience in computer especially in Excel.   We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 12 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from August 2016 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
