Grants Officer

General Description International Relief and Development (IRD) is an international charitable, non-for-profit, non-governmental organization that collaborates with local and international partners to design and implement humanitarian relief and development aid programs. IRD’s mission is to reduce the suffering of the world’s most vulnerable groups and provide tools and resources needed to increase their self-sufficiency. IRD was founded in 1998 and has grown over the past decade into an organization that is operating in many countries across the world.   IRD has been present in Lebanon since 2006, and the first activities included assistance to poor rural households in southern Lebanon adversely affected by the July War. Currently, IRD implements projects in Lebanon within the context of Syrian crisis supporting civil society organizations, Syrian and Iraqi refugees, and Lebanese host communities.   Specific Responsibilities   Under direction of Grants Coordinator, support all aspects of the grants process, including the review and selection of recipients and the award process. Collaborate closely with all members of the team to ensure coordination of program efforts. Ensure that grants management policies, procedures, and practices are followed. Work with IRD staff and CSOs to implement a process for awarding community grants that is both easy to track and operates as efficiently as possible; maintain tracking system for all stages of proposal process, as well as for gathering require documentation per grant awarded. Provide support in maintaining grants database and assist in all financial and grant reporting activities and deliverables to ensure achievement of program results and compliance with donor and IRD policies and regulations. Collect proposal submissions from the field and assemble and maintain a "grant file" for each consisting of a folder, evaluation sheet, and checklist compliant with IRD internal filing practices. Provide support in evaluating grant proposals and schedule proposal review sessions with CSOs. Ensure compliant expenditure of grants funds. Draft summary and progress reports related to the grants component of the program Collaborate closely with the Grants Assistant to ensure completion of grants milestones before submission for approval Other duties as assigned by Grants Coordinator and/or Program Manager.   Qualifications   Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related work experience Experience with international organizations or international NGOS desirable. Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and be accountable for results in a fast-paced, fluid and challenging work environment. Responsive to changing demands with strong leadership skills and a strong initiative. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Fluency in Arabic and English.
