Grants Coordinator

General Description International Relief and Development (IRD) is an international charitable, non-for-profit, non-governmental organization that collaborates with local and international partners to design and implement humanitarian relief and development aid programs. IRD’s mission is to reduce the suffering of the world’s most vulnerable groups and provide tools and resources needed to increase their self-sufficiency. IRD was founded in 1998 and has grown over the past decade into an organization that is operating in many countries across the world.   IRD has been present in Lebanon since 2006, and the first activities included assistance to poor rural households in southern Lebanon adversely affected by the July War. Currently, IRD implements projects in Lebanon within the context of Syrian crisis supporting civil society organizations, Syrian and Iraqi refugees, and Lebanese host communities.   Specific Responsibilities   Under direction of Program Manager, manage all aspects of the grants process, including the review and selection of recipients and the award process Manage and lead the programming of all types of grants awarded to CSOs under the program; this includes providing guidance and technical assistance to CSOs in designing their project activities, and launching and maintaining grants according to the approved work plans Establish process for evaluating grant proposals and schedule proposal review sessions with CSOs Maintain daily communication with CSOs to ensure successful implementation of grants activities Collaborate closely with M&E Coordinator and Program Coordinator to ensure complementarity of program activities and messaging Work with program staff and CSOs in developing a process for awarding community grants that is both easy to track and operates as efficiently as possible; maintain tracking system for all stages of proposal process, as well as for gathering required documentation per grant awarded Maintain grants database and oversee all financial and grant reporting activities and deliverables to ensure achievement of program results and compliance with donor and IRD policies and regulations Tailor existing IRD grants manual for local grantees and ensures that grants management policies, procedures, and practices are followed ln collaboration with Finance Manager, oversee all expenditures of grants funds, and ensures expenses are reasonable and eligible to the program Manage the tasks of Grants Officer and Grants Assistant and ensure their professional growth Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager   Qualifications   Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Economics, Development Studies or related field with 5+ years of relevant work experience (program coordination, grants management, designing and implementing community projects, etc.) Experience with international organizations or international NGOs desirable. Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and be accountable for results in a fast-paced, fluid and challenging work environment. Responsive to changing demands with strong leadership skills and a strong initiative. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Fluency in Arabic and English.
