Agricultural Field Engineer

Key functions -          Provide technical assistance to growers through field visits within several regions of Lebanon in addition to remote assistance over the phone. -          Assists in the activities pertaining to the foundation’s demo plots and nursery. -          Organize workshops and seminars and implement them -          Contribute to the content of the newsletter and the program’s webpage -          Assist in the identification of potential customers for the 2016 tree nursery -          Follow-up with growers on record keeping -          Building relations and network with players in the sector (cold stores, traders, governmental institutions, NGO’s, etc..) -          Keep the organization updated on all local and global activities and trends relevant to the program -          Perform other tasks (office / field) as required   Minimum requirements -          Degree in Agriculture Engineering from a renowned university. -          Extensive knowledge in the fruit tree production with emphasis on apple production, preferably at all levels of the chain. -          3 years of relevant experience in field work -          1 year of relevant experience in extension systems -          Familiarity with certification systems (HACCP, ISO, Organic…) -          Motorized   Competencies -          Team player -          Excellent communication skills (within the team  and with growers) -          Excellent reporting skills -          Mastering English and Arabic, French is a plus
