Justice without Frontiers (JWF) is a secular, nonpolitical, nonprofit, nongovernmental, juristic civil organization, incorporated in November 2005 and headquartered in Beirut. Its role is to develop and promote democratic reform and rule of law, and undertake legal and social projects that support human rights. Justice without Frontiers attracts volunteers, professionals, and passionate individuals who believe in human right principles and are dedicated to work towards prosecuting violators and supporting victims who have no access to justice, at the national, regional, or international levels.
Women’s Access to Justice- Phase 2: is a three years program implemented in Lebanon by Justice Without Frontiers in partnership with Oxfam GB. The program aims to contribute to equitable access to formal and informal justice for poor and vulnerable women in Lebanon.
Job desciption:
To regularly generate high quality media coverage of JWF’s program and advocacy work. This includes developing press releases, reactive lines, questions and answers and to organize press conferences, media briefing, news, stories, project updates, preliminary scripts, etc.);
To produce digital contents (stories, photos, blogs, videos) to be used on JWF website.
To contribute to media and overall campaigns strategy planning for women's access to Justice Program.
To build relationships with media colleagues in other organizations (eg. NGOs, UN agencies), to coordinate and collaborate on media projects.
To build and maintain excellent relationships with Lebanese and international media outlets and maintain a database of Lebanese and international media contacts.
To monitor and evaluate media coverage generated and to draw lessons to improve coverage, and provide regular analysis on Lebanese media coverage issues relevant to JWF’s program and campaigns work.
To develop and implement communications and media activities for the project: Write/edit content for all communication channels (press releases, news, stories, project updates, preliminary scripts, etc.);
Conduct field visits as needed to support Justice Without Frontiers communications;
Develop tools and content to support and raise the visibility of JWF’S program on women access to Justice on all communication channels (digital, audiovisual, print, etc.);
Share regular content updates based on program developments (announcements, article links, stories, visuals, news and events);
Support the coordination with the press and key media players on a regular basis.
Experience required:
1 to 2 years.
Qualifications:
Strong writing skills,
Strong organizational and personal management skills,
Strong social media skills (eg using websites/Twitter/blogs),
Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships,
Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills with good strategic perspective, able to understand complex issues and information from different sources and present this clearly and simply,
Ability to work creatively, effectively and in an innovative manner and to identify and develop new ways to use the media to JWF’s advantage,
Excellent communication skills, in written and verbal English and Arabic.
