Campaigns And Events Specialist

SMEX seeks a Lebanon-based social media–savvy specialist to conceive and organize SMEX-hosted digital rights events and campaigns, including developing relevant materials and partnerships. Key areas of responsibility Work with advocacy director and social media specialist to develop strategic, cross-platform campaigns and events on digital rights issues in Lebanon and the broader region Assist with promotional and documentation strategies for campaigns and events Organize logistics for events and campaigns, including booking venues, managing travel details, tracking related expenditures, etc. Develop and maintain good working relationships with journalists and media outlets Compensation Salary commensurate with experience, within an NGO budget Qualifications Between 2-5 years’ work experience with demonstrated project management skills Basic knowledge of campaign and communications strategy Strong familiarity, experience with strategic use of digital and social media tools, including multimedia production Excellent writing skills, preferably in Arabic and English Passion for advocacy for free expression, privacy, and human rights online A university degree in a related field is preferred Other requirements Very good organizational and communication skills Established relationships with various media outlets in Lebanon and the region Detail oriented, but able to see the big picture Takes initiative to prioritize tasks and meets deadlines Willingness to work after regular working hours and weekends when necessary Ability to work under pressure when necessary Exhibits a positive attitude Considers the team If you think you would make a good candidate for this position, please send a motivation/cover letter and your CV/resume to: jobs@smex.org with “Campaigns and Events Specialist” in the subject line.
