OVERALL PURPOSE:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for the field operation of the M&E system for the program. He/She will directly implement and ensure that the monitoring activities are carried out in line with Medair, donor and other guidelines as well as providing feedback based on the monitoring completed.
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
In Lebanon, many Syrian refugees are settling in the Bekaa Valley where other INGOs are working. Medair is working to help support host communities and refugee families who are not living in the camp. This position will support the NFI and Shelter Distributions, Site Improvements, GIS mapping, Health and WASH programming.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, translate and coordinate surveys for follow-up monitoring and evaluation exercises in order to obtain qualitative and quantitative data on the project performance indicators and objectives.
Train staff on surveys, data collection and best practices in the field.
Ensure that the monitoring and evaluation plan is being implemented effectively in the field and in compliance with donor, Medair, beneficiary accountability, and other professional standards.
Support local communities, outreach staff, and others in monitoring and evaluation methods and principles.
Facilitate documentation (including report writing) on monitoring activities, program data, best practices, and lessons learnt to guide work plan revisions, future proposal development and project implementation.
Maintain effective information database on projects through ODK.
Maintain a transparent, honest and supportive communication structure with the Medair team, with communities, beneficiaries and donors.
Be flexible, willing to assist in other areas of work as relevant and needed.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:
-At least 2 years related professional experience.
- Experience conducting surveys or doing analysis.
- Experience writing in English.
- NGO experience
- Excellent Arabic.
- Moderate written and excellent spoken English
- Excellently Organized.
- Able to prioritise and time manage
-Clear communicator, skilled in oral and written communication
-Able to oversee multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude for community mobilization and capacity-building.
