PRESENTATION OF HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL Handicap International is an independent and impartial international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights. Handicap International is a not-for-profit organization with no religious or political affiliation. It operates as a federation made up of a network of associations that provide it with human and financial resources, manage its projects and implement its actions and social mission.   For more details on the association: http://www.handicap-international.org   Handicap International is composed of 3 operational divisions: Emergency Response Division (ERD) Mines Division Development Division   MISSION CONTEXT   The Emergency Response Division in Lebanon was created in April 2012.  The provision of support to health structure is provided directly by Handicap International physiotherapist and technical advisor.  The identification, assessment of the needs, referral and direct provision of services is done trough 18 outreach teams (composed of one social worker as case manager and one physiotherapist supported by 4 psychologists and/or psychosocial workers) and trough 4 fixed points in the communities (in community centers to allow more efficiency reducing the time to reach the beneficiaries). An additional team in Bekaa and North Lebanon will be focusing on the community sensitization, training to humanitarian workers and the identification of potential local partners. In Lebanon, the provision of household essential items including food, NFI and unconditional cash assistance to cover essential winter basic needs of the most vulnerable refugee newcomers will be done in HI area of intervention (54 villages in Central and West Bekaa) through current dedicated outreach teams and distribution teams.     ACCOUNTABILITIES   Line manager: Logistics Assistant Line manager+1: Logistics Manager  RESPONSIBILITIES Objective 1:Ensure the transportation of people and equipment under good security conditions with respect to HI vehicle management procedure: Activities/Main duties: When transporting HI employees or goods, respect the country’s circulation rules and follow the facilities assistant’s planning and instructions. Make sure all staff and expatriate put their security belt. In case of an accident, immediately get in touch with the closest police station and duly inform the logistics department. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer and the HI rules when using the vehicle; Keep all personal documents as well as those of the vehicle with you and check that they are valid (driving licence, insurance paper, order mission, HI ID card, HI charter & Waiver of liability form…) Fill in the Log book every day according to HI procedures. Behave in a respectful way at check point and/or to police officer and/or to military keeping in mind that you are representing HI. Respect HI security rules   Objective 2: Ensure the maintenance of the vehicle under your responsibility with respect to HI vehicle management procedure. Activities/Main duties: Carry out daily checks before starting up the motor (oil level; water level ; pressure of the tires) Wash the car twice a week minimum. Note down fuel consumption in the record book according to HI procedures, as well as any information concerning the maintenance of the vehicle. Make sure that the security tool box and first aid kit are complete and on board. Make sure the fuel tank is always half full. Inform the facilities assistant when service is necessary. Solve minor technical problems. Inform the logistics department of any major repairs to be carried out.   Objective 3: Ensure the Preparation of the departures: Activities/Main duties: Inspect and prepare the vehicle the day before departure so as to be on time. Prepare additional equipment to be brought along according to needs (fuel, stickers, flags, tools, medical kit). Guarantee the good loading and unloading of the car and tight the goods in an appropriate way. Know the city map, especially HI staff houses, INGOs offices, UN offices … and relevant partners’ offices. Make sign a Waiver of Liability form letter for none HI staff.   Objective 4: Contribute in editing the fleet’s monthly report with the line manager Activities/Main duties: Report to the facilities assistant or logistics officer any problem encountered during work schedule. Annonce a month in advance the expiry date of the documents related to the vehicle under your responsibility.   Fill in the fuel consumption table for the vehicle under your responsibility.   REQUIREMENTS Distinguish mandatory and desirable requirements Background: At least 2 years work experience in a relevant field Languages: English and French are desirable, Arabic is mandatory Driving license: issued from more than 2 years The candidate must be 23 years old or older INGO/LNGO working experience is an advantage JOB CONDITIONS Remuneration: according to HI salary grid Starting date: ASAP Duration/ Type of contract:  Till the end of the Project...............................................................................................
