Throughout the assignment, the incumbent will be providing overall support for enhancing UNFPA’s information management system associated primarily with the support to the humanitarian team and related namely to UNFPA’s programmatic areas i.e. Reproductive health, gender equality and empowerment of women including prevention and response to gender based violence and promoting resilience and social cohesion with due attention to targeting young people. This would entail the incumbent to acquire necessary knowledge and/or apply existing management techniques and tools to assist in collecting necessary and pertinent information and which will need to be adequately processed based on UNFPA’s strategy and needs and communicated within and outside the organization. These tasks will enable the management at UNFPA to make sound decisions. To be able to perform the proposed tasks, the incumbent will need to coordinate and work closely with relevant partners such as OCHA and UNHCR among other. Information will refer to both electronic and physical information. Internally, he will be coordinating with the humanitarian team to ensure synergy and complementarity. Providing these services will ensure that humanitarian operations of UNFPA are maintained and functioning in an effective and efficient manner. The incumbent will be based at UNFPA premises.
