Psychosocial (Pss) Officer - Bekaa

Job Overview/Summary: In 2015, IRC is strengthening its Psychosocial program for children enrolled in class sites in Bekaa. This Psychosocial (PSS) program will include the direct implementation of the Child Protection PSS Curriculum in all class sites, monitoring of PSS activities, and the implementation of a new Adolescent Girls Life Skills Curriculum for a targeted set up adolescent girls in class sites. Major Responsibilities: The Education PSS Officer is responsible for supporting the PSS program and Life Skills programs and: Attending training by the PSS Specialist on the PSS curriculum and WPE Capacity Building Manager on the Life Skills curriculum Delivering the trainings on these two curricula to project teachers in project sites (field sites) Monitoring and overseeing the implementation of these curricula in class sites using specified monitoring and mentoring tools Working closely with the technical teacher trainer teams to mentor the pedagogical approach of project teachers Assuring referrals to Case Management are handled in a respectful and confidential manner Working closely with field teams to ensure logistical and material support to classes for these curricula to be successfully implemented Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to:  Education Field Manager (Bekaa) Position directly supervises:  None Indirect Reporting: Education Senior Manager/CP Specialist   Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: External: IRC partners Job Requirements: Education: University degree in Psychology, Social Work or relevant field Work Experience: 3 years work experience minimum Experience in working with children and in psychosocial work mandatory Experience in working in emergencies preferable Experience in working in a cross cultural environment mandatory   Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:   Experience in working in NGO preferable Training and coaching experience preferable Good communication skills Language Skills:  Fluency in Arabic and English mandatory Certificates or Licenses: Proficient in Word and excel Working Environment:  Staff will be based in Zahle with travel required between the governorates and the main IRC office in Beirut.
