PRESENTATION OF HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL
Handicap International is an independent and impartial international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights.
Handicap International is a not-for-profit organization with no religious or political affiliation. It operates as a federation made up of a network of associations that provide it with human and financial resources, manage its projects and implement its actions and social mission.

MISSION CONTEXT
The Emergency Response Division in Lebanon was created in April 2012. The provision of support to health structure is provided directly by Handicap International physiotherapist and technical advisor. The identification, assessment of the needs, referral and direct provision of services is done through 4 outreach teams (composed of one social worker as case manager and one physiotherapist) and trough 4 fixed points in the communities (in community centers to allow more efficiency reducing the time to reach the beneficiaries).
TASKS DESCRIPTION
Perform common household tasks to maintain a clean place.
Sweeping and mopping floors, dusting all rooms, daily
Cleaning and disinfecting all washrooms (toilet, sink, shower) daily
Throwing the trash daily and making sure it is incinerated
Cleaning walls and windows monthly
Clean and disinfect washrooms to the required standard once a day and change towels twice a week
Make sure soap and toilet paper are available in all washrooms at all times
Empty litter bins and removing waste to designated areas. Incinerate waste once a week.
Spray cleaning, scrubbing floors and re-sealing with polish
Wash dishes, cups, and keep the office kitchen clean.
Deep cleaning of kitchen, fridge and the kitchen cupboards (inside and outside) once a week, clean the cooker daily.
Deep cleaning of bathrooms once a week
Cleaning walls, windows and corridors in case of raining or other debris
Help Logistic Department to provide items from store on their requests
Manage the stock of cleaning items and welfare in office in a rational manner and make requests for purchases of additional items in a timely manner.
Perform relevant tasks as may be directed by the supervisor (copies, etc.)
Clear up after flooding and/or any other emergency cleaning
Clean the lawn, corridor and car park place (outside cleaning)
Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities
Continuous monitoring of the cleanliness of facilities and other equipment
Move furniture once a week and clean behind and underneath
Inform the Supervisor for the need of extensive repairs and other major renovations in the work area
Make simple repairs that do not need professional help
Implement security measures such as closing doors and windows at the end of your work
Time schedule
- 8:00am to 5:00pm from Monday to Friday.
Note that working time can go up to 48 hours per week (according to the Lebanese Labour Law) if it is required by the volume of activities and by the line manager.
