Senior Social Worker

  Job description   All INTERSOS employees and consultant are expected to perform their roles and responsibilities according to INTERSOS chart of values and code of ethics. The job description is mandatory for all position within INTERSOS and shall be signed by employee within the first week of employment.     Job Title        : Senior Social Worker Reports to       : Project Manager/ Field Activity Officer (FAO) Duty Station    : Position Type   : Full Time   Job Purpose: The senior social worker is responsible of planning and implementing skill-building and empowerment activities for targeted beneficiaries in assigned areas     Generic Duties: The Senior SW is responsible for the design and implementation of structured recreational and PSS activities for vulnerable children, youth, women at risk and men run in INTERSOS CAFS or outreach, in collaboration with the Field activities coordinator (FAO); Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the center; Act according to the CPiE Minimum standards. Assess the needs of the targeted beneficiaries and ensure engagement of the beneficiaries in the design of and support  to the implementation activities; Plan, elaborate and design the activities for all beneficiaries (informal skill training, awareness, focus group discussion, social recreational, life skills, community day and informal education activities) in collaboration with line manager and accordingly to INTERSOS guidelines Works directly with all beneficiaries in INTERSOS CAFS, conducting activities with them, involving parents and community members when appropriate; Refer to the case workers any vulnerable cases of CP and SGBV identified or referred by a team member; Informs the FAO and/or the Project Manager about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation; Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers and/or in Intersos Beirut office when requested; Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or the PM.         Specific Duties: (Can be adapted to the particularities of the job location and the requirement of the project. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired).   Act according to the guiding principles of GBV and Child Protection case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do not harm’,  ensure a non-discriminatory approach, act according to the best interest of the beneficiary, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest; Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced; Provide direct support and care for vulnerable case with protection concerns (including survivors of gender-based violence), including psychosocial support and case management. Organize outreach activities and/or special events in straight collaboration with the FAO; Monitor the daily activities (awareness, recreational, psychosocial and educational) within the center or outside, conducted by the social workers; In straight collaboration with the FAO, organize the work of the team members allocating specific responsibilities and task according to the implemented activity; Identify any need of training or gaps within the team and refer it to the FAO; Assist the FAO or other staff in solving problems arising in the Child Friendly Spaces; Engage the volunteers in the planned socio-recreational activities held at the assigned center; Produce and maintain in an accurate way a daily attendance registers, monthly inventory sheets for each activity and PSS database; Ensure the verification that the supplied Centre material is daily accounted for and secured; Replace the FAO when he/she is not present in the center; Recruit, train and monitor the community centers volunteers in the assigned area, also train the embedded community centers ROVs/Volunteers responsible of the community services related activities;   Reporting: Provide to FAO daily basic information about project activities and report on a weekly and monthly basis to the Data  Entry/Team leader, FAO, Protection Officer and Project Manager;   Education: University Degree in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent   Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)   Professional Competencies: -      Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience. -      Computer literacy (Word, Excel, outlook) -      Analytical and Reporting skills -      Supervisory responsibilities. -      Driving License   Behavioural competencies: -                     High confidentiality, respect and non-discrimination attitude. -                     Ability to work under pressure -                     Good interpersonal and  communication skills   Languages: -                     Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
