Lebanon Water Project   Scope of Work   Senior Advisor for the Litani River Authority Short Term Consultant     Background The USAID-funded Lebanon Water Project (LWP) is a five year project that works to increase reliable and sustainable access to potable water for Lebanese citizens; improve water management practices and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of public water utilities, while raising awareness on sustainable water use practices and promote better water governance to help assure long-term protection of Lebanon’s water resources.   General Objective The Litani River Authority (LRA) Senior Advisor will assist and support the LWP in the strategy development and engagement with the LRA. S/he will be based at the LRA in Beirut to assist and support the LWP in the strategy development and engagement with the LRA and provide onsite technical assistance.   Responsibilities Assist the Water Resources Management Team Lead in identifying and supporting interventions and activities with the LRA. Closely coordinate with the Water Resources Management team on activities with the LRA. Help the Water Resources Management team in collecting the necessary data regarding the identified project activities. Work with Water Resources Management Team on achieving the strategic goals identified in the LWP Work Plan. Prepare periodic activity reports that will be submitted to the Water Resources Management Team Lead. Coordinate and report to LWP Management all activities with donors working with the LRA. Other tasks as assigned.   Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in water engineering, water and/or environmental management, or other related fields; advanced degree in the above listed areas preferred. Previous experience in water utility management an asset. Computer literacy and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Experience working with donor funded programs. Demonstrated communications, writing, and presentation skills. Strong teamwork skills, as well as effective cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
