Youth Program Officer   About ANERA American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) advances the well-being of people in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon and Jordan.   Through partnership and close consultation with local groups and communities, ANERA responds to economic, health and educational needs with sustainable solutions and also delivers humanitarian aid during emergencies. Incorporated in 1968 to help ease the suffering of Palestinian refugees after the Arab-Israeli War of 1967, ANERA is non-political and non-religious and is one of the largest American non-profits working solely in the Middle East for 40 years. ANERA helps local institutions become more self-sufficient and effective in serving their communities.  Every project is planned in consultation with the communities that ultimately benefit – an approach that ensures relevancy and commitment, and secures the long-term viability of the projects.   The position   Position Title     :               Youth Program Officer Reports to           :               Sports Program Manager Location               :               Beirut Office Work hours        :               From 8:30AM till 4:00PM Period                  :               1 year renewable after evaluation with 3 months’ probation period.   Deadline for applications:   Position Summary: In response to the ongoing crisis, ANERA is launching a non-formal education and youth development project funded by UNICEF denominated as “Quick Impact Skills Development for adolescents affected by Syrian refugee crisis”. The Youth Program Officer will provide operational and administrative assistance to Youth and Sports Program Manager by supporting in a variety of administrative, programmatic, and managing logistical services. He will also work in close coordination with Field Coordinators to follow up on their work plans, activities and reports.   Responsibilities: The sports program officer will be responsible for carrying out the following: Support the implementation of the project, with focus on achievements and outputs; Oversight and management of all field activities. Coordinate and oversee workshops, trainings, events…etc; Act as focal point for partners and all partner NGOs, as well as other relevant stakeholders and Municipalities; Manage and Coordinate local and field visits for project manager or any concerned parties; Build a strong relationship with local partners and youth target groups Represent the project before the partners when required Monitor the implementation and progress in the field on daily basis Oversee and monitor data collection by field coordination Analyses data and prepare minutes of meetings and progress reports as requested Perform any other tasks as required Requirements and Qualifications: BA degree in the field of Business Administration, Management, or any other related field. 3 to 5 years of related experience. Preferably on youth projects. Previous experience of local or International NGO’s will be as an advantage. Skills: Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals; Solicits input by genuinely valuing others' ideas and expertise; Speaks and writes clearly and effectively; Arabic and English Listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others and responds appropriately; Asks questions to clarify, and exhibits interest in having two-way communication; Demonstrates openness in sharing information and keeping people informed. Good organizational and managerial skills Flexibility to travel within the country Computer literate with focus on Microsoft office
