DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006.  DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobTechnical support for housing and infrastructure intervention in Akkar Duties• Assess regularly the informal settlements (IS) humanitarian situation and determine population needs;In collaboration with the CSMC team, collect any relevant information from the IS communities and partners in the region; and Analyze and monitor the results of informal settlements activities;• Responsible of the communication between DRC and partners/field stakeholders regarding the informal settlement (IS) upgrading;• In collaboration with Protection and MEL teams, assess, indentify and select refugees for housing and IS assistance;• Develop any pedagogical and methodological tools adapted to the local context;• Communicate with the other sectors to homogenize the methodology and the conditions of intervention;• Ensure the follow-up and the proper use of materials and tools used during on-site works;• Give an expertise and contribute to the improvement of activities through critics, analysis and suggestions;• Monitor the preparation and review tender documents, technical drawings and bill of quantities for the informal settlements upgrading and construction projects in Akkar;Other relevant duties as directed by the HaI Manager. About you• To be successful in this role you must have :Education as civil, architectural and/or other related field of study. University certificate to be provided. • Practical minimum three years (3) of experience in engineering, including survey, planning and execution of building construction projects;• Documented skills in project planning and design, drafting, calculation and technical writing;• Good computer skills in programs i.e. MS Office incl. Word, Excel etc. MS Project and AutoCAD would be an advantage. DRC will offer the successful applicant 8 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 1st of December 2015 and be willing and able to work in Kobayat AkkarSalary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
