Case Management Specialist

Under the supervision and direction of the CM project manager, the CM Specialist of the Child Protection Case Management team is in charge of developing the TDH IT case management system, technically supporting the CM team and building their capacities in case management and child protection in collaboration with the CP expert. Major Responsibilities: The Case Management Specialist will be responsible of: -       Developing an internal case management system in collaboration with CP expert and CM project manager -       Developing internal SOPs in collaboration with CP expert and CM project manager -       Developing internal referral mechanism under the guidance of the CP and CM project managers -       Ensuring the full compliance with the internal case management system, SOPs, referral mechanism and CM process -       Ensuring the full compliance with the Practical Guidance for Child Protection Case Management Services in the Emergency Response, Interagency Guidelines for Case Management and Child Protection, National SOPs, Alternative Care in Emergencies (ACE) and Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS) -       Ensuring that TDH IT Lebanon's work in this sector is fully aligned with the inter-agency approaches and tools/SOPs developed by the Child Protection in Emergency Working Group (UNHCR-UNICEF-MOSA) and its Case Management sub-working group -       Liaising and collaborating with other CM actors -       Contributing to the Child Protection (CP) system strengthening work led by the Ministry of Social Affair -       Technically supporting the CM team and developing capacity building plan in close collaboration with the CM Manager and the CM project manager -       Building the capacity of the CM team on case management and child protection -       Building the capacity of a local committees, case managers and social workers Experience required:   At least 5 years of professional work experience at national level in the field of case management, proven experience in child protection is required. Demonstrable understanding of humanitarian response, coordination mechanisms, humanitarian reform and action. Substantial experience in emergency and post-crisis environments Strong experience in community based protection activities and Protection case management Experience in the implementation of Case Management guidelines   Education / Training Master’s Degree field of Behavioural and Social Sciences, preferable in Social Work Vulnerability assessment, GBV, and CP case management Security and hostile environment trainings are a target   Knowledge & skills and Required Personal Characteristics (fitting into team, suitability for the job and assignment/mission) Ability to formulate strategic documents for programming, engagement, and coordination involving organizations and Government. Experience in and knowledge of Syria situation and response is considered a strong asset. High-level communication skills, including ability to speak formally, negotiate, demonstrate tact and diplomacy, and advocate for child protection issues with humanitarian community and authorities. Demonstrated experience in building capacity of teams and staff. Fluency in English, and Arabic. Commitment to the aims, principles and values of TDH IT. Ability to work well in a team and under pressure and in response to changing needs. Ability to plan well, set own targets and meet them. Ability to deal with difficult, often frustrating work situations A very high sense of discretion and integrity when dealing with child protection cases High degree of responsibility, initiative, emotional stability, the ability to prioritize a heavy workload and to delegate accordingly, culturally sensitive Professional attitude and the ability to build successful working relationships Excellent command in writing and editing documents in English and Arabic Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to the needs of the team and organization Strong commitment to support/develop capacity of local staff Team player Problem solving and leadership skills
