Fundraising And Finance Officer

FUNDRAISING AND FINANCE OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTION INARA is looking for a person with a track record of raising funds through grants and large individual donors, for the position of Fundraising and Finance Officer.  The Fundraising and Finance Officer will primarily be responsible for developing the organisation’s funding strategy however they will also have a secondary role in assisting the Programme Manager with the organisation’s finances. The roll is full time and the contract is one year.   RESPONSIBILITIES  Fundraising - Identifying and researching potential grants - Writing fundraising and grant proposals, including drafting necessary supporting documents such as proposed budgets - Reporting to funding organisations on INARA’s progress in relation to funded projects - Responsible for ensuring that donors receive timely updates through INARA’s newsletter or beneficiary specific updates -  Initiating and leading fundraising campaigns. This might include events, reaching out to businesses and producing innovative ideas for    fundraising - Supporting communications campaigns - Identifying and researching potential individual funding partners - Developing professional relationships with potential funding partners such as businesses, Embassies and rich individuals - Representing INARA externally as required - Responsible for maintaining INARA’s donor database and updating the communications officer on online donations. Finance - Responsible for checking INARA’s finance system(s) - Responsible for monthly reconciliations - Responsible for keeping track of staff expenses, filing all receipts and checking that money spent has been recorded. This includes       ensuring all staff adhere to petty cash procedures - Responsible for producing a monthly finance report - Responsible for grant budgets and updating INARA’s overall budget - Responsible for managing and recruiting an intern   REQUIREMENTS  Essential - Bachelor’s degree - Track record of raising money through grants and large individual donors -  Experience in developing funding proposals, including narrative and budget , in line with organisational funding needs - Proven mathematical skills - Proven skills in using Microsoft, especially excel (advanced) -  Ability to work independently, to initiative and with the ability to prioritise workloads without direct supervision -  Strong interpersonal, written and oral English communication skills with an ability to communicate to a wide range of actors -  Proven research skills -  Experience working in the humanitarian sector - Good diplomacy skills - Good presentation skills - Creative and enjoys problem solving  Desired Skills - Arabic Language - Previous experience of working in the NGO sector in the Middle East   TO APPLY Send your CV and cover letter, detailing how you meet the requirements to sofia@inara.org The deadline for application is 7th October 2016, however interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis
