We are looking for a highly qualified candidate ready to cooperate with community development team. Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobUnder the overall supervision of  the CSMC (Collective Site  Management &Coordination) Project Manager and the direct supervision of the CSMC Officer in Baalbek, the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of all DRC's operations in collective settlements located in his/her area of responsibility. Duties• Facilitate the establishment and support the functioning of Collective Centre committees with a particular attention to vulnerable groups and/or persons.• Conduct focus group discussions/workshops with refugees of different ages and gender to identify their needs and concerns. • Support the committees in conducting awareness sessions and information sharing for Collective Center residents. Maintain regular contact with host community leaders and representatives and facilitate their participation in the daily life of the camp.• Identify gaps, problems and vulnerable cases in their area of responsibilities and report to the Collective Site Management and Coordination Officer (CSMCO).• Identify, coordinate and/or collaborate with other service providers or DRC units’ staff. Share information and help them liaising with Collective Centre committees or focal point in order to improve access to and quality of service provision. • Monitor service provision and Collective Centres status aiming at ensuring refugees dignity. Report immediately any significant changes, events, protection or security threat to the Collective Centre Management officer.• Submit weekly progress reports to the CSMC Officer. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the CSMC Officer. About youTo be successful in this role you must have completed secondary education, Excellent English and Arabic skills (written and spoken) mandatory Ideally you will also have a) Experience of participating in community based organization or volunteering or social work.  b) Experience in community mobilization and/or coordination and/or information management; c) experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national/international institutions; d) Knowledge of UN and NGO mandates and programs in the humanitarian responses an advantage. You must be available to start work on January 2016.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
